According to inventory audit by a friend of mine stating Washington D.C. area has been wipe out completely.

According to him, this group of people possibly employed by OD.
(Because the priced change happened today 4/23/04. There is NO way regular joe will know about this)

hm... I've been calling many socal stores, but it's either out of stock AND $699.00

Do I have to go in the store and actually buy it and it will show $299?

Well, it didn't help that it was posted here and at FW yesterday. Not to mention a thread on FW a week ago that indicated when the next price drops would occur.
 
Man, I saw it in OD yesterday while looking for the NIkon 2100 Gift set. Which was OOS by the way. I didn't know it was so cheap since the sign said it was $3XX or so. I should have had then scan it. Now it's OOS.
 
I called the Bay Area OD stores at San Mateo, San Jose, Sunnyvale and Los Gatos. None of them have any of the three in stock. The Lost Gatos store clerk said that he could order it for me .. but he quoted usual prices .. no deal in the Bay Area!

 
It's all sold out. I called about 20 stores already. None of them have either the A80 or the Nikon 5400.

Looks like it's too late. Most stores in SoCal are sold out...from LA to San Diego. Dang!
 
i got the last (display model) nikon 5400 at my office depot (no more left in/around riverside california)

$299 - 10% off = $289.88 (inc. tax)

i know they have at least the display model of the olympus camera, but i didnt ask if they had any instock.
 
I heard that alot of the OD employees are jumping on the deals for ebay. I went to OD the other day trying to get a A80 and one of the guys told me that his co-worker bought 3 of them and posted them ebay. I think its really lame, but I guess its one of the perks of working there. I am sad.
