gogeeta13 is absolutely correct. I have a quad speaker setup and this causes problems because you can't have everything at once. You either choose between having 4 speaker output or using your gamevoice with two speakers.

It was on clearence sale at Office Depot, I paid 4 x $12.88 = $51.52 - $15 (coupon) = 36.52 + 8.25%(?)tax = $39.53 for 4, translated to $9.88 each.

I have to agree with cisco, my GV doesn't work with my Netgear router either. Which defeats the purpose of me getting it.

However, the headset is pretty good though.

Can someone please scan in a receipt for the $14.88 or $12.88 clearance price, I was able to find one today, but at $24.88. I'd like to try a price adjustment. Thanks

If you guys want something that REALLY works great, look into the VoIP Blaster from Creative Labs. I saw it first at COMDEX, and it works a lot better than Gamevoice in my opinion. I bought Gamevoice at Fry's around Christmas for $39, then I found VoIP Blaster for $19 at onvia.com. Too late to return the gamevoice...oh well... *shrug*

Why I like VoIP Blaster better:

a) A lot cheaper than gamevoice.
b) Doesn't require your soundcard. It has it's own processor!
c) Because of b), I don't worry about the quad vs duo speaker problem
d) Interfaces with any cellphone headset, and/or any analog phone. Do I hear speakerphone anyone?
e) Voice quality is WAY better than gamevoice, and you can actually understand what your friend is saying since the voice isn't getting mixed with the game sounds

That's mainly it. It also came with some kind of internet phone calling service. It was like $5 free for calling anywhere in the world. We didn't really use that part, all my relatives are here. But we game with it all night without any problems...

There was an excellent review of it in March issue of PC GAMER magazine, page 101 I think...

My 2 cents...

I went to OD here in Independence, MO (I-70 and Noland Road) and they had 5 Game Voices still on the shelf, marked at $24.88, even took one up to scan because one shelf said $28.88 and the other said $24.88. It rang up at $24.88, so they are a bit cheaper than they were a week ago but not by much.

I checked Creative Labs web site and to me VoIPBlaster is a totally different product than GameVoie. Although you can use the GameVoice to make internet phone calls (I use dialpad a lot) , it is primarily designed to meet online gamer's need. On the other hand, VoIPBlaster is focused on Internet Phone call market and I don't see it is anyway better than GV when you use it to play games (if you can use it to play games at all)

VoIP is a cool idea, but it does have it's limitations

PC to PC calls are free if you BOTH have a VoIP, PC to Phone calls require you to purchase minutes. I use Net2Phone.com all the time with my Game Voice, and it usually sounds great. Plus it's free. I have the full version of the program, a time-limited (5Min) version was released with MSN Messenger 3.X.

Not thread crapping, but the two products were meant to do two different things, each has their merits and shortcomings. If you can find the Game Voice for $14.88 or less, BUY it since the included Headset/Mic retails for $24.95. Even if that's all you ever use its still a good buy.

Anyone with a $12.88 or $14.88 reciept, could you please post a link for people to use for price matching? It would be greatly appreciated.

Also, I'm assuming the 15 off 50 is a paper coupon they send out to catalog subscribers, eh? Just wanted to double check.

One last bump hoping to get a reciept scan out of somebody.

I found the Winston Salem, NC store is store #356. I used to work for OD, and we rarely price matched if the other store was putting the item on clearance AND it was out of stock. I'll try anyway, I'll let everyone know how it turns out. Still, a reciept scan would be ideal. Anyone willing to help us out?

I was able to pick up one of these for $12.88 today. It was priced at $24.88, but I told the CSR it was sold at $12.88 elsewhere and she let me have it at that.

Problem is, it was the unit only -- no box, manual, or software. And of course MS doesn't have the software on their site.

Can anyone with the unit send me a copy possibly?

BTW, I might be able to scan the receipt -- but it will appear as a price adjustment. Not sure if that would hinder your chances.

Hey, anything could help. If you could post it on a site somewhere would be ideal.

EDIT: I used to work at OD...almost all clearance items are dealt with a price adjustment. It came up very often that something wasn't updated in the register price database.
