Skimming the details, the only noticeable difference is the physical size and RAID support in the 3.5". Can any one chip in with their thoughts?

musta missed that one when I checked earlier!

these are faster than the intel's

FW updates are a PITA but I have been using a couple of them for over a year with zero isues

Hmm, this very same item was $165, - $33 coupon last month, not really sure why the price jumped up to $199 now.

For the firmware updating, it is pretty easy if you have a linux box, never tried on windows.
 
Very tempting. Would it be adviseable to get this or the C300 that currently has a hot deals post for $210?

I'm thinking of getting 2-3 SSD's into RAID. I also have a PCIe RAID controller, but that supposedly needs a 99$ battery backup add-on in order for it to perform well (write caching, enable use of its 256MB buffer). I'm not even sure if that card supports these SSD's.
