OCZ value utt

This ram has the same utt chips that the more expensive ocz line has, it only hasnt been hand tested to match the same specs as the vx line. People have been consistantly getting 250mhz, 2-2-2-5 @3.3~3.4v. I ordered some that will be here tomorrow, ill try to follow up on them.

Where are the consistent results for 250FSB 2-2-2-5? I have found one person reporting that so far.

cuz that one person is me ^^

anyways, for those who dont know, you need to modify your psu or motherboard to get at least 3.3v or 3.4v vdimm or buy the ddr booster newbie stuff

edit: seems like one other has reported nearly the same results and btw everyone, the ocz guy said its only a 60 percent chance and atacom policies suck ass, no refunds on cpu or memory, not even with a stocking fee
 
Here are a bunch of posted results with both twinmos and ocz vx, which is the same thing as what i posted, just the ocz value ram has "utt" ic's which means ocz doesnt pay someone to individually benchmark the sticks so thats how they sell them cheaper.

Here are the pics of my ram, supposedly they are using a new revised version of the utt in these because they dont have the classic utt dimples but they sure perform like the utt for sure. I got 225mhz@2.6v 2-3-2-10, I have to wait til tomorrow when i can go to radioshack to get a 20k pot for my vdimm volt mod. Notice the "W" in the product number, according to the ocz guys this means winbond dies.

i overclocked to 225, here it is at 221

alot of people are getting those boards just for the vdimm reason, I have a 9nda3+ which looks very easy to mod, I hope to do it later today

even w/o it... my kingston bh-5's don't ever get hot to the touch at 3.4 or 3.5 volts...

samsung tccd's get burning hot even at 2.8 volts...

the vdimm mod is VERY easy...

Yeah Im experienced with soldering small circuits, but you dont have to solder it, alot of people are using ponoma grabbers so they can remove the mod when they want. So yeah very easy.

UTT is a different animal. Lots of posts on XS about UTT giving errors in Memtest if they don't have a fan blowing on it (at 3.3v+ though)
 
I have a nforce3 chaintech vnf-350. I have no idea what the vdimm is because im at work. What if you can't get the vidimm up to 3v+? Will you be able to get a very good overclock? I have geil value right now am im running it at 230FSB at the default vdimm and timming. Will i be able to at least run this stuff that high?

you probably will be, but the stock timings are 3-4-4-8. the higher vDimm will let you tighten up the timings.

if you're not gonna try going higher frequencies or tighter timings, i'd say stick with what you got if they're working AOK.

edit i know it's heresy, but testing has shown that with the A64 built in mem controller, running your RAM speeds Async with FSB will not have much, if any, impact on performance. go for the higher cpu clock and keep the mem timings tight. search for a thread by Zebo. this is very different than on the nForce2 boards where mem in sync w/ FSB was crucial to excellent performance.
