one is tested to make sure it'll run at super fast bandwidth and tight timings, the other does not go through this testing process but is the same memory with the same chips. In other words the modules aren't tested and thus could potentially fail to be considered the full blown VX product. The reason the "real" stuff is so much more expensive is because OCZ took the time to make sure it will reach those speeds, whereas with the Value VX stuff there is still some gamble involved. You could get chips that will struggle to 240MHz 2-2-2 with 3.6v or you could get sticks that would pass as the fastest OCZ has to offer...you pay for the guarantee, as well as the warantee

which one is the tested one again?
and i suppose both should be equal at stock speeds right?

well none of the values are tested above DDR400, but your best bet is to go with the VX as they have the same winbond chips that are used in their high end VX parts (running for $250+ a gig or so), although this is only if you have a DFI Board that allows for 3.2-4v, a modded motherboard, or an OCZ voltage booster (which will cost extra to have)
