PSA: Support Heatware by clicking through to Amazon from their website. 🙂

(Mentioned specifically because there is no cashback/fatcash for Amazon anywhere, so why not support Heatware?)

Damn, unless a new rebate pops up this deal is effectively dead. Promo period is 3/17 to 3/31 so today is the last day, but you also have to mail the rebate out within 21 days of purchase with UPC etc. That 2-4 week fulfillment period effectively kills it. Otherwise I've found OCZ rebates are very reliable and typically come closer to the beginning of their promise dates.

If you have a MicroCenter near you, i7 920 has been $230+tax for months. Newegg also has it for $279, which is similar to the price of comparably performing 45nm Intel Quads like the Q9550 and Q9650. The boards still cost more, but there's actually quite a few now in the $180-$220 range. RAM used to be the biggest price gap, but its come down significantly as this deal shows. There's plenty of 6GB kits in the $80-$120 range with and without rebates.

My expected ship date was updated to April 6th today, so we'll see if Amazon stays true to that. Add another week for shipping and that leaves a week to mail in rebate.

I've been burned BAD by OCZ rebates. I sent them in on time and they sent me some card saying that my receipt was not within the valid dates. Total BS.

It's too bad, I really wanted to support OCZ and buy their products. But I'll be avoiding them at all costs now as a matter of principle.

Contact the retailer where you bought from and make a complaint about it.
Three years ago I had this issue and I contacted Fry's (where i bought the ram).
Two weeks later I got my check.
OCZ rebate used to be the one to avoid.
OC did get its act together after so much bad press about it.
My last two recent rebates came back w/o a hitch.
I think OCZ has a member @ the memory/storage forum, if I'm not mistaken.

Not only can you contact the rebate processing center directly and get something like that resolved in less than 5 minutes, you can also contact OCZ directly and they will almost always over-ride the rebate company if you are in the right.
