OCZ PC3500 Vs Crucial PC2700. How much faster?

Let's see...

166mhz (pc2700) vs 216mhz (pc3500)...

Why is this a difficult question?

What's faster? well DUH!!! 😕

if you're gonna run each at the same speed then it doesn't matter. the crucial is only rated for 2.5 166Mhz operation though.

so PC3500 is DDR432? Well that's not much better, hmmph 😛

Wouldn't run past PC3200 lvls on my mobo either. Damn it's expensive. Doesn't seem worth it to me. For $40 more, 1gb of Crucial PC2700 is certainly better.

Such is the industry 🙂

Anyone have experience with, or an opinion on, this?

OCZ has a terrible (past) reputation for bogus reviews of their memory, scamming customers, and horrible support. Whether things have changed or not is a good question. I would suggest doing a SEARCH and making your own decision to give them a chance. I for one will continue to avoid doing business with them.

But searching is too easy! I want stimulating forum conversations with my friends here at Anandtech 😀

Searching, no. Stimulating posts, yes.

Oh and thanks for the reply. I think i'm all set on this ram issue now 🙂
