well, this is my first time building so.... i dont really know how many connectors the PSU will have. idk how many useless cables im gonna have left. i think im going eith the powerstream, but i dont know whether the 520W justiffies the $40 heftier price tag over the 420W. I just need it to power my current system (in my sig) and maybe a year worth of upgrades (maybe an FX-57 later on). Which will suffice?

It has a 28A rail...

Edit: lol, the modstream has a 26A rail.

Im sorry, you are incorrect. The Antec TRUEBLUE 480 has 18A like I said.

Edit: Seems like Antec also released a 22A version, of course I wouldn't take the risk of geting the 18A version.

They're 28A now:

Edit: Oh you were talking about the trueblue, the thread title said True480...

Edit 2: Omg, I just checked the box for my Trueblue 480 and it says it's 28A

I think the Blue Storm is the one to get these days. I have an Antec 480 (with 28A on the 12V line by the way  ), and while it seems to work fine, the newer supplies have 120mm fans which should reduce the noise somewhat.

Hmmm, and how does that 500W Fortron Blue Storm match up to the Antec and OCZ? I've heard good things about Fortron. Between this and the 420W PowerStream?

I have a modstream and I absolutely love it. Besides the stiffness of the sleeved cables its great. I did a good amount of research on PSU's before i bought and the modstream had a good amount of amperage, 26a, however when I recieved the packgage there was this star shaped orange sticker on it taht said 12V MAX 40 AMPS! rofl I have no idea whether to believe the 40 amps or not but it runs like a charm. I'm running at 12.02 V on my 12 volt rail and every other rail is slightly higher too, by .01-.03 ish.

I wouldnt get a Fortron 500w Blue Storm again. Although i cannot be sure, i believe it was either that or my mobo that killed my 3 6800gt's. Now i'm gunna get a OCZ 520w Modstream.
