OCZ Goliath question..

I've got a mobo which can't use a normal heatsink connecter because one of the notches to hold the heatsink is broken.. so I need one that uses 6 notches instead of two.. I found out about the OCZ Goliath (it uses 6 notches) and it seemed like a good choice. The thing comes with powerful fans though, either the Delta SHE fan or the YS Tech 40cfm. Anyone out there who's had any experience with either the fans or this heatsink, I'd like to know what ya think of it.. any comments appreciated. Thanks! 🙂

Yes it will. Its a pretty nice cooler, but those fans are very loud. And the sound they emit is a very high-pitched whine, so unless you have a well insulated case and bad ears, chances are it will annoy you. But if you're like me you'll be fine 🙂

If you are concerned about noise, I suggest you check out the ThermalRight AX-7. It uses 6 notches, and has an 80mm fan, so its nice and quiet, and will probably cool better than the Goliath.

I don't really mind a noisy fan.. as long as it cools well.. I'll look into the AX-7 though. Thanks for the info 🙂
