Do V2 drives have random write problem? I thought they were using "newer and improved" JMicron controller which somewhat mitigated random write problems. However, the only review at newegg complains about it.

Otherwise it's a good deal.

I have 2x of the 60 GB Core v2 SSDs on a hardware raid card, and they are absurdly fast. That said, this is the 2nd generation OCZ drive, and it will have the random write issue in a single drive configuration, particularly if you don't take the time to properly configure it.

The 3rd generation drives (Apex and Vertex) reportedly don't have the stuttering issue.

I have a OCZ 64gb core drive. I don't have any 'stuttering' problems. However, random writes will hose any SSD.

Writing 1 bit means the SSD internally writes a 128kbyte sector. That takes time. I have done some optimizations
under windows and linux to minimize small, random writes. The OCZ forum lists a bunch for windows. For linux, I
mounted my partitions noatime, which eliminates updating file access times on file reads. I did get a screaming deal
on my SSD. This isn't a bad price for the 120gb drive, and it is faster than the one I have.
