The reviews are terrible, but it's cheap...

I bought this drive a few weeks back, and it's working perfectly fine so far as a boot drive.

I bought a 120GB version. Had trouble installing Windows and having intermittent file corruption issues until I secure erased and reinstalled. It seems to be working ok so far, knocking on wood...

For the speed at the price, it would be worth it, if only it didn't bring such aggravation.

Perhaps you should secure erase the damn thing to start off with just in case. I wonder how many GBs of writes I burned through trying to reinstall W7 and SP1 umpteen times before secure erasing 😀

You missed out on the drive at its normal price, because any higher than $45 is ridiculous for a drive proven to be problematic.

That's what I was thinking too. But for $55, I'd get two, and hopefully one would work. 😛

actually it was 45 at amazon (no MIR), but you had to wait at least a week before it shipped
