Is DDR2-1066 worth investing in at this stage with DDR3 coming down in price?

The businesses will keep pushing small improvements and new products for them to survive and prosper, but we need to ask if the improvements are really worth. My (from a Prof. of Computer Engg. and former NSF PD) gut feeling is that it is not for 99% of the population. After all, the DDR2-1066 was a coveted product just a year (or less) ago!

In for this. Been waiting for some decent OCZ DDR2 2x2GB kits to go on sale. I'll be using this DDR2 rig for the forseeable future, no rush for me to upgrade quite yet. Thanks OP.
