OCZ 2GB ( 2 X 1GB ) Platinum PC2-6400 800MHz 240-pin DDR2 Memory

Oh man $50 AR and AGCO is really tempting. I've already got 2 gigs of this in my system now. Would it be worth upgrading to 4?

I'm torn between this and the Patriot for $65 AR&SH. Decisions decisions. I think I'll end up going with the Patriot. I've read better things about it's oc'ablity and bad things about OCZ's rebates.

Definitely a hot deal, though.

Not to put down the OP, but I am quite leery of OCZ rebates after reading all those horror stories revolving them.

I had a similar bad experience with OCZ rebate a while ago but I think things might have changed for the better.
In fact OCZ now has a mod working in our AT's System Memory forum who will work out all the kinkies if need be.

I read the reviews at NewEgg before I plunked the money down, and
was impressed that they responded to a guy that didn't get his rebate.

Is the SLI Ready version (OCS2N800SR2GK) worth the extra $10? I'm not planning to run SLI on the new box, but was wondering if this ram was worth a relatively small premium over the original post. I doubt it would make much difference, but I thought I'd ask.

I've also been trying to decide between this and the newegg Patriot deal.

Got em ysterday, no bumps, no errors.
Will give them a try overclocked maybe.
The supertalent pc800 I had, one stick went bad
within a month. Hopefully these are better.

I have 4 gig of these which I paid at least twice as much per gig. It's running in my main rig without a hitch. Mild overclock (410 Mhz) to get my E6400 running at 3.28 Ghz.

Count me among the victims of the OCZ rebate machine... "Postmark Date" as the reason... how am I supposed to prove that?

Anyway... for those of you who are wary of Buy.com, the same sticks are $101.99-$40.00+$4.99 = $66.98 AR shipped at Newegg. Id be willing to hand over an extra $7 to go with the Egg. Definite great sticks, just don't count on that rebate coming home.

Cheers

Edit:

Apprently ZZF has the same deal as Buy.com, free shipping and a $40 rebate for $59.90 AR.

Sounds like a great deal, thanks OP!

I got my rebate on time about three months ago when I purchase some pc2-1066. First they sent me a post card stating they didn't receive a copy of the vendor invoice and I no I sent it in. I sent in another copy and they processed the rebate no problem. Keep good records of what you submit and respond promptly if they request more info and you should get your rebate🙂

Hey guys bought these sticks for a new build I am doing. Does anyone know if these will work with an IP35-e? That is my mobo of choice, but I can always pick another if not.
