I'll let you know I just ordered 2x256 OCZ 3500EL Duel Channel memory and have an Epox 8rda+ on the way. I did order corsair 3500 first but the price was just too high. I should recieve my stuff early next week and will do some benchmarking and let you know my results from a non hand picked sample. Oh and it was ordered from ramstore.ca

many of us are extreamly interested in your results.

Avoid OCZ at all cost. Their RAm sucks the hardest. The chances of you gettign a bad stick is higher than you actually getting a good one.

Only thing at ATOT to avoid is ignorants who have no 1st hand experience at a particular product. Instead they rant about how bad it is from 1 review web site that is trying to get noticed :disgust:...

So you assume that just because you have success that others must too? well, i have first hand experience and i don't want it ever again. it's an utter headache. I will make sure that never again is garbage memory like that touching my system..

No, I'm not assuming anything... Re-read my whole reply... I'm saying, most people ranting about OCZ didn't have experience with it, but they stand aside 1 Hardware Review web site that lowballed OCZ... And than there are those who lie about all kinds of things and how they couldn't make their RAM work. I'm not saying you're one of them but I've come across many idiots. I really don't know why only on ATOT people dislike OCZ... Maybe it's because their PC 2700 RAM couldn't overclock to 434MHz

. On the other hand, if you use a cheap mobo, any type of memory might not work. Go read OCZs web site... ABIT is highly recommanded (and I'm not surprised since ABIT makes far the best motherboards for overclockers anyway, whoever disagrees is really shallow)...

whoever disagrees has owned other stuff probably.. *cough EPoX cough*
I couldn't get my memory to run stable at ANY speeds.. it just wouldn't run at all... no matter what speed. it's very brutal.

I'm sorry to hear those who got bad sticks from OCZ, I really do feel for you, all I can speak from is my own experience. It may be limited, but my OCZ 512MB PC2700 Rev 3.2 stick runs awesome and overclocks beautifully at Turbo RAM timings. I don't work for them or have any links to them, but every review I've seen with their latest products are awesome. I'm sorry if people got ripped off before, but if a company turns around why not give it a shot? I don't get it. I thought Jesus preached forgiveness

I don't think it's a question of forgiving, just a question of recommending a product of consistent quality. Look at the second post in this thread... want to trade RAM with Denkkar? ;)

AnandTech's Kristopher Kubiki asks "should we add OCZ to our price guides again...?"

OCZ memory scandals are not the only scandal that OCZ was involved in.

Some others included:

Repackaged products from other companys
Actively Owning and running "review" websites, with curiously good reviews of OCZ products
Talking up their own production of all products, when they probably did not manufacture much of it.

(Mikewarrior2's remark there)

Uh... wow! :Q OCZ customers speak out at Reseller Ratings

I have opened police report and have an ongoing investigation. PLEASE email all your complaints and orders to usepost2000@yahoo.com. I promise to do everything to get your money back!

Garric, my recommendation is some Corsair XMS3500, to go back to the real topic. The company treats people right and even retroactively improved their timing guarantees to past buyers when they updated them to tigher specs.

OCZ Ram? Gimee a break! I dont care if the current version does fsb 1000000 - they ripped me off before and they arent getting any more of my money. As far as Im concerned OCZ are crap! I only buy XMS Corsair now. I would urge everyone else to do the same. Anything but ocpuke!

So did anyone who got this RAM ever get a chance to review it personally? Mrspec3, seeing as you own this RAM, could you run loops of Memtest and give us Sandra benchies? nucl3arboNg, you ever receive your package yet containing the 2 sticks? If so, think you could give us some Tests and benchies :D?

I have a couple of OCZ 256MB PC2700 REV3.2 sticks and they are both single sided. Work great and are stable at very aggressive timings (CL2/2/2/5/1T)
I also had experience with 2 OCZ 256MB PC3500EL sticks and they too were single sided. In my experience with OCZ, they make all of their 256MB modules as single sided.
In my AMD setup (main rig), I'm using a OCZ 512MB PC3200 REV2 (double sided) stick and I'm running it at 200MHz, and lowest possible timings my mobo can give (CL2/2/2/6/1T).
It helped overclock my XP 2400+ all the way to 2.5GHz (see my other thread in this topic).

In my testing experience, OCZ beats Corsair and Samsung RAM hands down. Corsair came very close but I wasn't able to make the RAM stable at very low timings.

OCZ is great RAM if you only know how to use it properly (ABIT mobos work best).

So you have a few sticks runningand you have the right to say that I'm ignorant?? What about you being ignorant?? The fact that you have a few sticks does not justify the statistic that OCZ are more often than not, bad RAM.

What's this crap that ABIT mobos work best? If the RAM is quality RAM, they would work with any brands of mobo.
