Right after I closed the tab with the linked article, my Facebook feed updated, and IGN's story on this populated. I thought it was amusing.

while i have no doubt this will have a commercial future, it wont happen on the first retail version of the rift. the current dev version only has angle/direction (heading,pitch,yaw)detection and no positional(x,y,z) tracking. it will work if all you are getting is a virtual lapdance, but moving your head sideways/fowards/back wont register.
 
If we look at how technology advances, it only makes sense this would happen. The internet and DVDs were things the sex industry jumped onto, and that helped quite a bit.

I dare not click any links at work, but I am hoping this is similar to Demolition Man. That just moves us closer to everything being a Taco Bell.
 
Shoulda been the first thing they started developing, whole reason VR was ever looked into in the first place, right?

TrackIR integration should be the first mod.
 
Now imagine taking the Oculus Rift off to find your girlfriend sitting in the room watching... or worse.
 
Why don't we just film porn from the pov of the guy with a 3d camera with the right fov? Or would that just be too weird...
