LBP didn't come out until October 27th and wasn't out worldwide until November 5th.

So yes it didn't sell well in October, that was because it was only out for 4 days.

You can't say that without also saying the same about Fallout 3 which was released on Oct 28 and sold much more.

Fable 2 was released on Oct 21
Fallout 3 Oct 28
LBP Oct 27

Are these numbers showing how many units of whatever is sold during the month of Oct?

I ask this b/c I see these #'s every month and it's hard to fathom that hundreds of thousands of DS or PS2 units are sold EVERY month.

Is this world wide? That would make more sense if that were the case.

This is the number of units sold in North America for the month of October.

So yeah, that many thousands of DS and PS2s are sold.

Sony needs a price cut that is for sure. The year of the PS3 is a flaming disaster from my perspective. A couple months worth of minor hardware sales wins and never really making a dent in the top 10 software sales.

And I dont see it getting better in 09 if they are unwilling to cut prices.

I actually see a combination of two problems in the short-term future of the PS3.
1) The flagging economy
2) Blu-Ray players reaching price spots of $200 and below.

Part of the appeal of the PS3 was that it was a comparatively cheaper Blu-Ray player that came with more features and better support. That is no longer true now that stand-alone Blu-Ray players with profile 2.0 support are so much cheaper.
