O'Clocking speeds with Duron

What kind of speeds are people getting when they overclock a 600 or 650 Duron??

What settings do you use ie-FSB, multiplier, voltage.

1.85 950 with pc-100 running at 133 rock stable from a duron 600 with a vantec cooler and a case fan blowing on it. 52C full load 49C idle.

rock solid.
Week29

Duron 600 @ 900MHz (9x100)
Voltage: 1.85
Cooling: Cooler Master DP5-6H11
Current CPU Temp: 47C
Current Sys Temp: 31C

I got my duron 600 up to 998(.9 😉) @ 9.5x105. 1.85v, 3.5v I/O.

48-54c with a FOP32-1 and generic grease. I've got one fan blowing on the video card (V3 3k pci) cause it runs REALLY hot. Can't get a case temp because the fan blow right across the internal temp.

Trying it out tonight. Modded it with the Defogger repair kit and installed the crapppy coolermaster sink w/ Arctic Silver last night (bet I'm trying to order an Alpha by this time tomorrow). Can't wait to get home after work and see what it will do!
Oh yeah, it's a 600 on a KT7 non raid. Got the $208 combo from mwave.com- cheap, fast delivery, and painless (so far).

These Duron 600s rock!

I just setup my system a few days ago.

highest I went was 1050Mhz (105fsb * 10.0) @ 1.85v (52C load, 50C idle) - seemed to be stable

But, i kicked it back a bit (i only have generic pc100 memory anyway).. and I have been running stable for 3 days now with the following:

978Mhz (102fsb * 9.5) @ 1.65v!! (49C load, 46C idle)

my motherboard is an A7V and my cooler is the Alpha PAL6035 with generic grease

600 Duron overclocking to 1 Ghtz at only 1.75 volts and maintaining a CPU temps under 50 degree centigrade & system temp under 30 degrees.

I use a hobbyist case GTR PC-60 Case (www.gtr.com.hk) with 2 intake and 1 exhaust fan, plus a L&C 300 Watt power supply (AMD approved). The CPU fan is something that the wholesaler uses for AMD Thunderbird chips but is nothing special but i have used a heat transfer compound between the cpu and heatsink.

600 Duron Chip
Abit KT7 Raid
196 SDram (crappy chips)
Diamond Voodo 770 Viper with 32MB
Teac CDrom x40
Video Capture Card (some dodgy generic brand)
Soundblaster Live plus optical daughter card.
LAN card 10/100mbps
ATM adpator for ISDN modem

If I were to run a 600 Duron and O'Clock it to 931 can I just simple change the multiplier to 7 and keep the FSB @ 133?? Do I have to change the voltage?

600@892 (8.5 x 105) @1.70v...by the jumper (A7V), but MBM says its 1.76v.

The current temp is 50c, mobo temp 29c..this is with retail heatsink and it's a bit hot which is why I'm not bumping the voltage and MHZ.

100Mhz @ 10x @ 1.84 vCore
voltage is 1.775 under Softmenu III.
Am still tweaking voltage for stability.
Will be running Prime95 torture tests tonite.

TechyJono, running a athlon/duron/t-bird at 133 FSB is impossible. You have to remember that these chips are on an EV6 bus, 100mhz fsb DDR (Effectively 200mhz). That means for every mhz you up your fsb, you cpu is clocked twice that amount. Running at 133 would put your cpu at 266!! that'd be insnane. Also, you have to remember that o/c'n via multiplier is a MUCH better solution than using FSB. When you up the multiplier, you are only increasing cpu speed, thus temp and voltage. When you up the FSB, everything gets increased, RAM, PCI/ISA/AGP cards as well as the cpu. Too many things can limit FSB overclocking. Stick to the multiplier for serious gains and the FSB for that little bit extra. Highest i've seen on amd chips is 110

I have Duron 600@950 (9.5X100) and Asus A7V at 1.80V. Runs between 48 and 52 deg. C with FOP32 fan. I posted at 1 GHz but wouldn't boot into Windows.

Got my Duron 600 at 990Mhz 110x9.0@1.85v and 43C under 100% load, with 256M generic PC133 mem that runs happily at 136Mhz@cas2 🙂

I'd like to get a little more tho. I feel that 1.85v for 990Mhz is a little on the high side... but just my opinion 🙂

Duron 700 running at 900 w/1.75volts and the retail HSF, running around 127 degrees. Super stable, 3 days of Prime95. Runs 950 at 1.8volts, but locks up after a while, due to the heat. I am getting a GlobalWin FOP38, so I expect 950 or 1ghz should be attainable at max voltage. Also I am planning on fully modifying my InWin Q500 with tons of fans. CPU is retail 700, week 24, unlocked, blue core (if that means anything, haha).

dar...

650@900 (9x100) 1.75v w/ retail HSF, KT-7 (no raid), 37C cpu idle, 43C cpu working, 29C system

could go 650@950, but 1.825v
