OCing the CPU

don't want to screw this up so I'm going to ask in advance.

(read the guide already, kinda helps, still confused)

looking to get about 2.4ghz out of my stock winnie (will upgrade cooling to xp-90 + panaflo soon). can anyone tell me about their timings and what they did for their memory adjustments?

ok, i feel confused now

did 220 with a 4x htt, did nothign else... now when i rebooted, the screen won't turn on. monitor light just flashes like it's not getting anything from the vid card. all connections look good. worked fine b4 this little tweak. did i already f*ck up? and how do i reset to normal settings? (not gettign to post screen or anything, wtf)

Oh yeah... when the board hangs like that don't clear the CMOS - reset the machine while holding down the Insert key.

can't seem to find the ram divider option under my cmos. any other name it could be listed under?

Under "Advanced Chipset Features" look for "Memclock index value (MHz)"

1 or 2?? i doubt that'll work, lol. my multi is 10x right now, that'd be one hell of an fsb overclock. that article you posted (and articles linking off that) tell me that certain winnies can only get to about 250 htt and 4x multi, but some can get to the 300x9 mark. anyway to test if i have one of these "older winnies"?

You are VERY confused I can tell.

You are assuming that your HTT multiplier and your CPU multiplier are the same thing!

It's not the case.

You have Corsair Value RAM according to your profile, set a very low RAM divider and up your HTT until your CPU chokes so that you can isolate the top speed of your CPU... then you can play around with picking the best RAM divider possible. Only use your top two CPU multipliers.

Don't get 250x4 confused with 300x9 though... the 4 is your HTT multiplier and the 9 is your CPU multiplier.

You need to reread the noob guides... lol.

ok, i don;t have a mem divider, but i do have the memclock index value. it's currently set at 200mhz stock.
