Building an athlon 64 system and the ram choices are driving me mad. I will be working with the DFI LANPARTY UT nF3 250Gb, and planning to oc the hell out of it. This in mind Im looking for a single 1GB Module of high end ram. Recommendations greatly appreciated.

I have been looking at the OCZ 3200 Platinum Rev. 2... Only problem is that is a 2 peice kit (2x512mb). The DFI board I want to use works better when only 1 DIMM is in use. Hence my asking for 1GB module suggestions.

No you want 2x512 for dual channel. It doesn't work better with 1 dimm it works better with 1 or 2; 3 or 4 just stresses it out and causes an increase in latency.

WHo told you this?

Oh i forgot youwere using 754. Did you already buy the board.... if not then get a 939. However you are correct about 1 dimm then. Sorry :D

No problem :) About the 939.. that creates a whole new set of issues and questions lol. Lets start with this one, the MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum NF3 is considered "the" board to run a 939 with, correct?

Ok hmm this might just solve my problem then. I can go ahead and buy the OCZ plat. 3200 Rev.2 (2x512) and duel channel them in the Neo2 PLat NF3... with perhaps a Athlon 64 3200 939.

Heres a good CPU for Ocing here I believe Anand got it up to 2.6ghz. OR like gamingphreek said a 3200+ will be fine too. It really depends how much you want to spend
