I have a problem ocing my barton 2600+ even 1mhz over the original clock speed which is 1.93ghz, i get a blue screen after about 2 hours that is a dumprep error and says all this text that i cant understand...is this because my agp/pci bus is not locked? i have an asus a7v600 mobo and really need some help 😱
 
First thing you gotta do is isolate your problem. Make sure your RAM isn't limiting you, relax the timings, set a 5:4 divider, up the Vdimm by .1 or so.....that will take your RAM out of the equation. Now see if you can't OC a little more. You might also need to up the Vcore some to get the higher MHZ. Be careful not to raise it too much. If it still won't OC any, I would just say to give up, some chips just can't handle it.
 
im new to these forums but im not a newb, i had the vcore at 1.65v(default) and also tried it at 1.7v just upping the thing 1 friggin mhz, and also had the vdimm at max..amd 2600+ processors operate at ddr333 so my ram isnt even operating at its rated speed right now so that shouldnt be the problem, i have no friggin idea 🙁!!!!
 
well the 1mhz crash could be associated with the lack of a PCI lock,esp if you have a a few PCI cards as well as a graphics on AGP. your chipset supports 400fsb, just set it to 200 and play with the multiplier.
 
Certain FSB's can cause instability, even if you have a locked PCI bus. I suppose there's no way you can set your bus to 200mhz eh? Is it unlocked? I would say run on the 200mhz FSB, then set your multiplier to 11 or so and take it from there. Your voltage should be at around 1.75v. :beer:
 
blah i wish i could up it to 1.75vcore like i had it in the winter, but at idle right now on stock its 50c 😱 thanks to my $8.99 dynatron cpu cooler so i dunno i may just keep it this way but even at stock im afraid its gonna fry when im playing ut2004 :roll:

If you want to seriously overclock pick up an SLK-800A and a powerful 90MM fan. :beer:
