OCing Celeron 2. 566 or 600?

Ok a pretty simple questions here.
I want to OC a celeron 2's FSB to 100mhz. Which MHZ speed should I go for, the 566 or the 600. Obviously I want a good chance of getting 100mhz fsb and I want the most speed I can possible get. Any advice?

Unfortunately, the 566 probably offers a better chance of hitting the 100Mhz FSB than the 600, but the 600 would obviously be 50 Mhz faster at that FSB--850 vs. 900. The 566 would be the conservative route, better chance of a successful overclock, and if you get lucky, you may be able to go higher.

Another option would be to hunt around for a guaranteed 600, but these can get kind of pricey. Try a search on Compuwiz1 (username)--he sells 'em, but his experience has been a little dicey with the cellermines. You may wish to consider a PIII if it is compatible, they also perform better at equivalent clcok speeds.

OK I know a lot of the claims at the CPU database here are bogus, but this is still pretty conclusive stuff:

C2-533, average overclock 845MHz = 59% (169 entries)
C2-566, average overclock 877MHz = 55% (595 entries)
C2-600, average overclock 901MHz = 50% (91 entries)
C2-633, average overclock 953MHz = 50% (22 entries)
C2-667, average overclock 993MHz = 49% (5 entries)

I.e. all C2's seem to overclock the same, unlike some of the earlier Celerons.

I would not count on Overclockers.com entries, while these entries are excellent source of information they do not reflect the percentage of success. People that did not succeed in o/c tend to fill uncomfortable about it and don?t run to post (as oppose to the successful lucky one).

This is the main reason why the percentage above are so close.

Much like the person who wins at the Casino,he tells all his friends about his great luck. When he loses that he keeps to his self.

Very good point & I'm amazed I overlooked it! I feel a bit stoopid now . . .

Hmm, nead more than 5x3 to look any good then.

lol. It's as good as you can make an N look without using more than 5x3 smilies though.

I only posted it for a couple of seconds to see how it looked.
