OC'ing Barton 2500+ on VIA KT600 Board

I have a Barton 2500+ ( I think it's locked since the manufacture date is early this year) , an Albatron KT600 MB, 1 Gig of Corsair PC3200 ValueRAM and an NVIDIA GFX5900 Ultra video.

I am about to try to overclock this puppy and was wondering if anyone has tried with the CPU and VIA KT600 based Motherboards. What type of OC might I be able to expect??? Can I simply just set the jumper to 200 FSB or is there something else that I must do??

I had a KT600 from Soltek. As far as I know, they are semi PCI bus locked. which means say from 200-220Mhz, your PCI bus is 34Mhz, from 230-240, 35Mhz, you get the pic.

But since you have 2500+, you can just bump the bus to 200Mhz, which means your PCI/AGP is at their nominal 33/66. 🙂

cool so I should see an improvement right??tell me this. I also have a machine with a Sempron 2500 in it on a SOYO KT600 board and some higher end Kingston PC2700 RAM. Would I see a decent overclock is I bumped that FSB to 200 MHZ??

what is sepron 2500? I need clock and FSB freq
if FSB is 166, u can do the samething, if fSB is 200 then u can only do so much (maybe a unlocked sempron?)

I had an OC'd Barton 2500+ running at 2.2 Ghz by raising the fsb to 200 and raising the vcore to 1.725 and vdimm to 2.7. Rock solid rig for a long time but my new Cel D running at 3.6 Ghz beats it especially in vid encoding.

hmmm so should I start at the default voltage and just move the jumper to 400fsb? or maybe take your voltage settings and apply them and be happy ???

What temps should I be getting ?
