DDR: corsair 1024 3200-c2: 2,5/3/3/8, down to 200, 1,75v
VID: msi 6660 gt, 500/1000 @ 580/1,16

so, tried to hit 2,7 - no way:-(
the absolute maximum here is 2655 mhz (295x9) anything above 295 makes my pc unbootable with bsod... is it maybe the ram settings?

I have hovever a problem with 2655. prime 95 crashes after 10 minutes - is this a stability probelm? haven't had any problems with games or other software sofar. other benchmarks like 3dmark03, 05, pcmark04, hot cpu tester etc. do not report any crashes.

you reckon I should go down with the settings? the last stable oc was @ 2655 (280x9)

Looks about normal for the Winchesters. Here are my stability levels with the 3200+ on the A8N-SLI

Totally Stable (prime95 for several hrs) 284x9=2556mhz

Super PI stable (but prime crashes @ 20-30min) 289x9=2601mhz

Benchmark stable - 3dmark05, 03, Aquamark, PCmark04 etc.
(but Super PI errors on 1m and up, and prime crashes @ 10min) 292x9=2628mhz

Boot stable- can boot to windows surf the net and play older non intense games
(but benchmarks and newer games won't complete, and Prime and PI error quickly) 297x9=2673

I ran @ the 2601mhz setting for over a week with no issues, all games etc.. play great. No crashes or hangs, but I've dropped back to 2556. I noticed the difference between the two settings is only a few points in benchmarks and is totally unnoticeable in realworld performance, and I like the comfort level of knowing its Prime95 stable. Even though I have read there may be a problem with Prime95 and Winchesters.

I'm planning on getting a winchester 3000 and the A8N-SLI. Which memory should I get to get a decent OC? (I plan on 1 gig total)

Oh, and are you guys using stock cooling?

Any value RAM rated at 3500DDR will do, not 3200DDR. If you want to boost your FSB to 220MHZ or faster I suggest budget 3500DDR, OCZ rev 2 3200, PQI Turbo 3200DDR 2-2-2-5 low latency ram not to be confused with other PQI Turbo black-mirror or gunmetal RAM, DDR 3200 Kingston HyperX, or DDR 3200 Corsair TwinX.

Know this, just because you over-clock your CPU to way-past what it is recommended for does not mean you will get better system performance. In most cases if your FSB or HTT is decreased from 5x you will loose major performance when you load programs or attempt to play video games.

If your going budget RAM go budget 3500DDR or higher!!!

Actually there might be something of a truth about the prime 95 issue with winnies. It's exactly as you said.

Right now I'm running @ 2601 (289xp).
I had Hot CPU Tester Pro running 10 hours with no problems.
CPU Burn In 1.01 also ran 10 hrs rock solid.
I even tried to run both progs simultaneously for 10 hrs - both finished withouth any problems.

However I cannot run Prime 95 longer than 17 minutes. Benchmark and touture test allways return an error.

I have not had any issues with any games (HL2, DOOM3, FAR CRY etc.). Benchmarks 3DMark03,05, PcMark04, Aquamark - everything fine.

I checked my memmory with Memtest86 (6 hrs) - no probs.

Do you have any soures on the Prime95 issue GuitarDaddy?

I want to find out @ which freqs. runs Prime stable. You say 284x9=2556. I will let you know.

how did you set cpu voltage to 1.65 using the 1003 final bios? in my case, the bios hides values over 1.55V for chips rated to run at 1.45, as documented in the bios release notes.

also what did you mean by "down to 200"? and 1.75v on the ram? aibooster shows my ram gtting 2.6v..

-yes I run 1003 bios. I always do bios OC. in 1003 I can go to a max CPU voltage of 1,65v if I remember correctly.
- I set my ram to 1,75v manually. corsair memory runs best with 1,75 - 1,8v. to be set in jumperfree.
- I set the ram on 200 mhz it's the first ram setting. change from auto to 200

AI Booster doesn't run good here. I always get different values that actually set in bios. readings are very inacurate. I always get a report " , is a wrong value" and the prg starts to opens like 100 pop up windows with the same error report.

could you recheck your cpu voltage choices for 1003..

See this post

it says:
Hide 'CPU Voltage' Item options from 1.55V~1.65V when using 1.40V CPU, because the low power CPU doesn't support upper 1.55V

No confirmed sources. Just many people posting the same type results, where everything will run perfectly for days in everything except Prime95, and lots of speculation. I ran 2601mhz for over a week

guys, i need a hand.... a serious one.
got my gear up, but as soon as i run tests the whole thing shuts down... i do have enough PSU power ( in total 1080W) so i dont think that would be the problem...
my config:
A8N Deluxe
Fx55
2x 6800U
2 gigs twinmos twister pro.
1x vapochill
1x ehiem pump (cooling HDs, 6800s. chipset)

hope you have a solution...
