OCing a winnie

Alright. I have a 3200+ winchester (2GHz, 512MB cache, 90nm, socket939), on an A8N-SLI deluxe, 1GB corsair twinx3200c2 and a 6600GT. I want to OC my CPU, but have a few questions:

1) What's the stock voltage for my CPU? Is it 1.4V ?
2) How high can the voltage go safely? Around 1.5V ?

3) What's the stock voltage for my RAM?
4) How high can the voltage go safely? I was told 2.9V was the maximum safe value?

Also, I have the 1002bios that came with the board. Should i upgrade to the 1008?

EDIT: Oh yeah, i changed my RAM timings to 2-3-3-6. They were 3-3-3-8 when i first installed them, and 2.5-3-3-6 according to the corsair website.

What revision number is your RAM? I'm trying to figure out if you have Winbond or Samsung ICs. That would answer question 4 for you.

3)Whatever Corsairs website says.
2)1.55V, but you can also watch your temperatures. I think 65C is the high limit.
1)I believe 1.4V is default.

1 more thing. about PCI locks/sata locks etc... I know what they are/what they do, but how do i find out if i have them? ASUS site is a bit dodgy for that sort of thing

Jpeyton is correct. 1.4V is default for all CPUs with the Winchester core. When raising voltage for overclocking the rule of thumb is that a 10% increase is safe. So 1.54V will not harm the CPU.

As for the RAM stock voltage is usually around 2.6 Volts (that's true of my OCZ anyway). You're correct in that you can raise the voltage up to 2.9V safely. Some of the more experienced overclockers have pushed it beyond 3.0V but, I wouldn't recommend it unless you know what you're doing.

Raise your CPU voltage to 1.54V and RAM to 2.9V and overclock away!!!!!!!!

Edit: Go over to the Motherboard forum to find out which SATA ports are locked/unlocked on your mobo. I'm pretty sure that all of the SATA ports on that ASUS are locked but I'd double check. If you can't wait for replies then do a search. That's a popular mobo and you're bound to find your answer.

- vCore: Adjustable CPU voltage at 0.0125 increment
- SFS (Stepless Frequency Selection): allowing FSB tuning from 200MHz up to 400MHz at 1MHz increment
- PCIe Frequency: allowing PCIe frequency from 100MHz up to 200MHz at 1MHz increment

Fixed PCIe/PCI/SATA frequencies.

So presumably, all SATA run at a fixed frequency.

I guess I'll go have a look around the MoBo forums though.
