I got the clocking util. enabled in the 3dfx control pannel, but what about should I OC it to? I have a fan jury-rigged to my video card heat sink pretty nicely, so heat shouldn't be that much of a problem. The default frequency on it's 166mhz. Any suggestions?

yes, the default from the 3000 is 166. slowly move up in 5mhz jumps to find a fast, stable speed. Make sure you test it well at each speed, eg. quake3 etc. then when it finally falters, move in 1mhz increments to do the final tweaking.
I have heard of them going 183+.

Add a small fan, i put one for a laptop Cpu i think and i got 185! But one day my fan broke and i didn't notice, i was playing counter strike and my computer locked up. Just let it cool and unclocked it. Voodo 3 3000 is a durable card.
