SI-120 here. At 2.5 GHz and 1.41V, I have 32C iddle 38C load.

I tried the Typhoon, the 9500 and the SI-120. I kept the SI-120 because:
1) Easy to install
2) Good performance
3) Silent (using adjustable fan).

The Typhoon is not:
1) Easy to install (horrible is the best I can say)

The 9500 has not:
2) Good performance WHILE silent (like the Typhoon or SI-120).
And if the fans breaks down, you have to dispose it. No easy replacement.

From all of the reviews I've read the three perform almost identically... I don't know how you oriented your heatsinks and all the details, but I'd like to see some specific numbers.

I didn't write down the numbers, I was not benchmarking for a review. Using an Opteron Dual Core at 2.5 GHz and 1.41V, I have 32C iddle 38C load. That's very good.

I can tell you that:
Typhoon=SI-120 and both are better than the 9500.

I tried them on a Antec P160 and a DFI NF4 SLI-DR mobo (not the expert). The 9500 was pointing to the back of the case, toward the 120mm exaust fan.

As for the Typhoon and SI-120, orientation doesn't matter.

I recommend the SI-120 to all. No issues.

How would the SI-120 stack up against the XP-120?
Which one would be better?
And I still don't have a clear answer. I want best Cooling with a heatsink and a fan. Which way do I go, SI-120? XP-120? 9500?...
I want to do mad OCing w/o water cooling.

Thx

The SI-120 is better than the XP-120. The XP-120 is obsolete, just use it if you have it already. If you are buying new, get the SI-120.

1) Better installation / clearance
2) Better cooling performance / air circulation.

You had a clear answer. I said the SI-120 is better than the 9500 at same noise level. If you want to buy the 9500, then do it - its not a bad cooler.

SI-120 = 120mm fan = more airflow, less noise.

I use the SI-120 with an Enermax fan, it is adjustable and I can balance performance/noise.

I guess I'm getting the SI-120 with my new Opteron 175!
Can't wait to get it now. (Along with new case, mobo, vid card, ram, and everything else in a computer).

How the hell the Egg charges $66 for a BT?! That's outrageous.. You can get one cheaper at CompUSA.
