ocing a celeron 533

friend of mine recently bought a celeron533 with a msi 6153 mobo, wants to overclock it, i have no experience with intel. amd be my thing. anyway, he wants to know what he can expect from this chip. and any recomendations on hsf for the chip?
thanks

Well, if it is the CeleronII 533A, you'll be able (if your mobo supports it) to raise the FSB to 100 and get it to 800 mhz. However, if it is the CeleronI 533, you're gonna be SOL. The limit for those cards are between 500-600.

If it is a "flipchip" then it is a CeleronII, if it isn't, then it's a CeleronI. You can tell by seeing if there is a small "die" on the top. The ones with the big dies on the bottom, are the CeleronI's and the small ones on the top are the Celeron2's.

Basically if its Green with a blue square, its a celeron 2 which will probably overclock. Its its not green, it wont overclock or maybe just a little.
