Hello, i am Oc'ing my 1.6A and plan on getting a watercooling setup from www.infinipro.com with their deluxe kit, small radiator with a better fan that i install, and their number 5waterblock with a better fan. I was wondering what everyone thinks of this and whether its a good idea cause reviews show this combo beating all the other kits from overclockershideout.com. And for the motherboard, i'm divided between a soltek ViaP4X400 (i can get it for $113 at www.ocsystem.com with a good deal on bundled RAM) and waiting a little bit for the Sis648 to show up. Thanks again everyone for your help and input.

For the motherboard, i would not get a VIA chipset for the P4 seeing as it is not an authorized chipset. I think most people are havnig the best luck with Intel chipsets. I also think watercooling is a little overkill for the P4. Mine is a 1.6a@2.4 and idles at 32, which is 1 degree lower than ambient case temp, and maxes out at less than 50 on air cooling.

I agree with everything Skawttey said. Recap: NO Via, Intel chipsets good, watercooling WAY overkill. 🙂

You can make a much better cooling system for the same price. Go over to overclockers.com or hardforums.com for info on water cooling. Just about any pieced together parts will perform better than those 'kits'. Look for D-tek heatercores, DangerDen, Swiftech, etc. Water pumps from via, eheim will perform much better too.
