ocerclocking duron

can you overclock the duron with the fsb on the new kt7a raid??? like you can with the pIII???? or will you have to use the multiplier still

trung: micron is right. You can overclock a Duron through the FSB on a KT7A. However, you will get better results if you use the multiplier to overclock.

i was running 10.5x 100...on my 800 duron before
but now i run 140x7.5 ....heeh
wayy faster... i dont think bus overclocking gets you lower clock speeds than just plain old multiplier overclocking

By tht eway if you increase the front side bus then it will also increase the clock speed with the Ram, Graphics card, and also anoy other device which is running off the mobo. If you get the front side bus to high then something could blow or the computer will not post at start up.

Good Luck,

Albert.

P.S Use multipliers if you want to oc to high levels.

Righty-o. Use the multiplier to do the main overclocking. Use the FSB to get the extra little bit of MHz between multipliers. Going up in multipliers gives you 50 MHz intervals. When you hit an unstable muliplier and have to back off, then try the FSB adjustment to get up a little higher. The interval amount of MHz is dependant on your multiplier. So for instance in my set up I have a 9.0 multiplier. Using the FSB adjustment I can then go up by 9 MHz intervals with every 1 MHz overclock of the FSB.

I just bought the Abit K7T-Raid w/ Duron 650.
The best I can get is 748 w/ FSB.
I've tried to increase the multiplier, but it seems to be locked.
What am I missing ? I want to get more so bad when I see all the
post of Duron 650 @ 900 or 1 Gig.

multiplyer changing is fine but the secret to speed is the buss.2 t-birds both at a gig but one on a 133 buss even though there clock speed is the same the one on the higher buss will be faster.i've even heard of people dropping thier multiplyier to get a faster buss.
