OCed 533 not running so stable

I've been having weird problems with my system lately. For a while I couldn't get any video. I ended up swapping out almost everything before I figured out it was the power supply. It's still acting weird, though, occasionally not giving me video when I reboot. What I'm wondering is whether anyone thinks this related to me having my 533A overclocked to 800. I'm running it on an ABit BF6. Is it possible I damaged my cpu or motherboard? The problems all started on a super hot day in L.A. when the temp in my apartment was over 90 degrees, for whatever that's worth. Thanks.

what is your voltage set at? And what is your AGP divider set at?And what is your video card, and also what kind of heatsink/fan do you have?
Heatsink compound, ect. It could be the cpu not liking the overclock, but no video at boot up (no bios screen,ect) would tend to indicate a video card problem.

try lowering the agp bus, and if that doesn't help try raising the voltage some. You may need additional cooling, what type of heatsink are you using¿

Well, my voltage is now set 1.75. I tried it earlier at 1.65 and 1.70. It's honestly not any more stable now, but I thought if I increased it might solve my problem. My AGP divider is set for 2/3. My PCI divider is set at 1/3. I'm running a Voodoo3 2000 with a fan on it and using a Golden Orb to cool the cpu. I put in a new video card but that didn't help. Ditto with a new cpu and ram. I had just about settled on the motherboard as the source of my problems when I decided to try a new power supply (250 Watt; same as old one). That seemed to do the trick. I got video immediately. But it wasn't long before I started having similar, albeit more sporadic, video problems. Also, I didn't immediately OC the cpu. I let it run at 533 for a day, but had the no video problem a couple of times in that spell. Thanks again.

Just my 2 cents... might be time for a grease job...

If your using thermal compound and have had it in use (overclocked cpu for some time) it may have dried out somewhat and the cpu is the real culprit... I have a buddy that had problems every so often, we tried everything and could not stabilize his system until one day I borrowed his cpu, slocket, HSF and tried it in my machine UGH!!! It gave me fits too so I figured take it apart... the stuff was kinda cake like (very dry) I put some Artic Silver I had been using on mine and to this day no problems with his machine (or mine after that). Also its a cheap fix if it works... Good Luck!
