Funny, i guess as long as it's the FBI and other security forces infiltrating right-wing and religious groups it's perfectly acceptable, but when it infiltrates violent left -wing groups like #Occupy it's somehow illegal.
 
I see the extremists are still going strong in here.

In my 3 day break from the forums I've had plenty of time to lurk around various sites and watch hours of live stream ows footage.

2 things really stand out. 1, police over-reaction. 2, main stream media lack of coverage and/or black out when they want to cover something.

A third would just be the constant drone of people who oppose #occupy with one breath and then also oppose the government with another breath because a democrat is in office. These trolls make it so easy, so we should at least thank them for that.

So, thankyou spidey, dwell, and all of the others I'm not going to waste my time listing off. With every extreme comment you post you just show the rationally thinking members of the board just how hard change is to accomplish. We have people who are such drones that they literally oppose the government and then oppose the people who oppose the government at the same time without thinking that they are opposing themselves.

Main stream media is showing vacant parks and empty streets instead of showing where the action is.

They're doing this to influence people dumb enough to get all of their news from mainstream media.

This has always been done.

Just think of how stupid people have been kept in the past before the internet. If this was going on in the 80's or 90's, barely anybody would know anything was happening. Surely there wouldn't be close to the numbers in the street.

Mainstream media is a tool of corporations and the government to trick people into doing what they want, and thinking what they want you to think.


If you really want to see what's happening, check news sites like RT, Al Jazeera english, or various independent press operating on ustream and other such sites.

I'm getting tired of replying to your nonsense.

When the 'infiltration' is legitimately for capturing seriously violent people, it's pretty accepted. Militias tend more to be that threat. Timothy McVeigh's group was.

When the 'infiltration' is of 'Grandmothers against war' - as it has been - when it is used to INITIATE violence to discredit the protesters as it has been - that's a different thing.

I've seen no real threat of personal violence from OWS; there have been some who do property damage.

I don't mind much the authorities 'monitoring' to help identify if any real risks come up - that's a far cry from sabotaging the protests.

Law enforcement legitimately protecting is one thing. Law enforcement undermining movements because the powerful interests want them undermined is another.

You're delusional if you don't see the clear trickery of the mainstream media.

Yesterday there were upwards of 10k people marching in NYC. There were 30k+ people watching ustream.tv/theother99 's livestream being broadcast from a cellphone.

Cut to CNN, they are showing a vacant park in NYC. CNBC, showing a street with normal activity and no protesters.

Now, if you see what I'm doing... I'm stating facts. I'm not saying anything about the movement succeeding or failing. Surely a level of success is the fact that you're still talking about it. Who is still talking about the tea party? They rented out some parks for a weekend... rah rah rah, went home.

I commend the people protesting to try to get some change to occur to correct the undeniable problems in our government.


Keep it classy riot police. What would you do if some asshole pepper sprayed your grandma?

My grandmother wouldn't ignore the police stating several times that they would use pepper spray to disperse those illegally blocking the road.

It's sad when the normal liberal media outlets no longer covers OWS. I think I saw a 30 spot on OWS/Occupy Houston this morning. Of course they were reporting on the lawless behavior that caused people to be arrested.

Exactly. It's a perfect example of your rights stop where mine begin. Their stated purpose is to disrupt other peoples livlihood, that is NOT a right, you have no right to do that and as such will be met with force by police who are only protecting MY rights.

It really takes the mind of a liberal to support this behavior.

Tell that to the police.

Large police presence only makes the situation worse. Especially when it leads to all of the videos we have of police just brutalizing all sorts of people ranging from pregnant women, elderly women, and your average joe.

If they really wanted to end the movement they would leave it be. All of the police violence has only brought more people into the fray and made their cause legitimate.

Blaming the victim is the most stupid position you can take in any situation. There was also a pregnant woman pepper sprayed in the same incident.


This is like when israel flys down a street with an attack helicopter firing off missiles randomly to kill a single unarmed person. At some point you have to take responsibility for your actions.

If a protester had pepper spray and went to spray one cop and it effected 20 cops, he' be held accountable for all 20 cops.

Did these people ignore these warnings? Yes

They deserve absolutely no sympathy as they knew the consequences of their actions.

You're misusing the word victim. What you mean to say is perpetrator, or "perp" for short. As in to perpetrate illegal activity.

I think you're missed the logical two step of "I support cause x" => "I'm justified to do anything in that regard". That and the bonus calls of "police brutality" when the above leads to the very expected and logical outcome.

In the case of the street protests, I agree. In the event of the public sidewalks, I do not. The Cops were really trigger happy last night. I get it, but still.

When OWS invades and an area or a meeting, and SHOUTS everyone else down, then they are violating others rights.

Maybe you should read the bill of rights.

Free speech doesn't give you the right to shout people down.

2. Most people are saying why is OWS being treated like an Enemy rather than as citizens.

You do not "infiltrate" the people you are bound to SERVE AND PROTECT. As law enforcement, your job is to make sure nobody gets hurt and that people obey the law (on both sides BTW). You are NOT supposed to have a side in it regardless of your own feelings.


BTW, comparing the OWS to the Skinheads is classic. Yeah, the OWS is a paramilitary anti-government militaristic group that poses a danger to the health and wellbeing of other US citizens....
