Everything bad with OWS is a reach or isolated incident.

I guess? I've watched it first hand for two months now, and other than weird drum circles, I haven't seen anything bad except smoking weed and cops beating the shit out of some doofy kids. The press is always going to play up the negative aspects if it fits their agenda.

If someone from the tea party was caught calling Obama the N word, would that make them all racist? Only if you have an agenda against them, in my opinion.

They already have a clear message. More socialism and hopefully a move to communism. If they don't get their way they are going to throw a temper tantrum like a group of 2 year olds in a two store when their mommy says they can only get 1 action figure instead of the 2 they want.

I really don't get why people keep saying they don't have a clear message. If you listen to what they are saying and read their literature/signs the message is quite clear.

It is becoming apparent the the liberal media is wishing that this group didn't expose their true intentions so they are going to try and disguise them with the message that they don't have a unified message.

Lies, lies and more lies. Nice going.

Sounds like a bunch of presumptions assholes. I believe X, there I will inconvenience you and fuck with your livelihood. It's your for your own good, I promise.

Again with the desperation and resorting to vulgarity. You're really representing!

By the way, still winning. 🙂

Gee. I know I am doing something that *will* get me arrested... By I'm gonna bring my $3000 laptop with me 😕

Gee, EVERY protester has to be unemployed?

EVERY person attending has to be POOR (not just below the top 1%).

You have to start scaling things.

$3000 is a major investment to the 99%... but a tiny one to the 1%, and an insignificant point when dealing with the actual issue of the separation of wealth in this nation.

They won last night, I'll say that much. They had thousands out in force and their presence was felt. For the record, I'm against OWS, if anything. Still, their movement needs to evolve right now. Otherwise that's it for them.
They didn't "win" last night. If anything, their antics probably cost them a countless number of potential supporters who were previously on the fence.

They're quickly losing support, not gaining...

Even the news articles on OWS is declining once again. Guess they need to create more attention by getting arrested yet again.

OWS Winning = Tigers Blood

If you spend $3000 on a laptop and can't easily afford it, you are what is wrong.

I can't think of any laptop that costs $3,000 in this day and age except industry specific and in that case wtf are you bringing it to OWS for.

Don't make this into an equality argument over a $3,000 laptop. A $3,000 laptop is a luxury, not something everyone is given. There are plenty of great laptops for 1/5 the price and barring OWS is turning into communism there is always going to be inequality in the country even with 50% tax rates.

I'm really glad OWS fucked things up so badly yesterday, because I have really become tired of their points.

Why not? Why can't you have an Apple in your lap?

So luxury automatically makes it illegal for you to protest. What law says that?

Red herring (literally) on Communism comment and a bash on laptop prices.

Bottom line is, the laptop is not the issue.

Opinion. There are many saying it showed strength and a general peaceful protest.

4 cops getting vinegar in their face is not exactly what I would call a "violent uprising"... although Fox would, and probably has, said so.

You're entitled to your opinion, but I'm there, you're not. Just because Bloomberg said it's over doesn't mean it is. He had to say that, because OWS was everywhere yesterday.

As to supporters: these guys are hardcore. You're with it or you're not. I saw lots of people were staring, taking photos, talking to protesters, etc. They got their images up on the wall of the Verizon building, had a big rally across the Brooklyn bridge and into Brooklyn. If losing is massing a rally numbering in the thousands, getting your message out, and making your presence felt for a 18 hour period despite the best efforts of the police to discourage you, then yeah, they lost yesterday.

We'll see how it continues to develop. They need to evolve from this, that's for certain.

If you are going to tell others they are using red herrings, you really should not use them yourself.

As a note, I suspect those cops would disagree with you. The one slashed by a knife would as well. Those who had to restrain the ones kicking and resisting would also disagree with you.

Talked to a friend of mine that got out of the Army and works for the NYPD this morning on Facebook. Apparently the NYPD hates these protesters. They're a huge pain in the ass. And not just because of the uniformed police having to pull OT to run crowd control. They're also having to pull detectives and undercover people from throughout the department to infiltrate the group. So way to go OWS, drug dealers and child molesters are going free because of you.

Ninjahedge, no fuck them for keeping that shit. Fuck them for being consumerist pigs and then bitching for others to fix it. They are the problem. They could have chosen to throw away their chains, but they keep them around and scream for freedom. Idiots.

I would bet money that the cops would disagree with me.

But please do me a favor and look at other protests of similar size and intent and see how they fared.

Hell, I think more damage was done at Penn State, or when XXX won the NBA finals than this thing....

Perhaps the NYPD should get it's priorities straight and spend more time on real crime and less time doing the elite's dirty work trying to suppress citizens' Constitutional rights. Just a thought.

Maybe the OWS people should take a close look at themselves, how many people's constitutional rights have been violated by their protests?

1st part to defeat the enemy is to infiltrate them and learn their plans so you can prepare action against them. Duh.

American citizens exercising their Constitutional rights are not the enemy, at least not if you're meeting your oath to uphold the Constitution. Seems to me the FBI got in trouble some years ago for infiltrating civil rights groups.
