Sounds like a good use of government resources. What better use of the Department of Homeland Security than acting to stabilize the homeland, quiet riots and maintain the status quo of domestic peace?
Sounds like more evidence of fascism to me.

Just like bank robbers, embezzlers, etc., right? They worked hard for their money. They deserve to be happy. Seems pretty selfish to hold them accountable for their actions or try to recover the riches they stole^h^h^h^h^h earned. Right?

Bank robbers and embezzlers broke the law. The people you're angry at operated within the law, or changed the law to enable their actions. You should be angry at the government being weak, not the people that took advantage of the situation.

So you cry cry about the wealthy few having too much power and concentrated wealth, but then you opposed the only thing that could possibly stand against them: An extremely strict, powerful government.

Ah ha! So excessive concentration of wealth in the hands of fewer and fewer people is a good thing because it reduces inflation? Got it.

🙄

what? No, just that simply doubling everyones salary would be a sure fire way to get to inflation. I didn't make any other remark did I? How can you comment on what I did not say?

That's dumb. You can be angry both at the perpetrator and the people who didn't stop them, as the OWS people specifically are.

So you're saying theft is OK as long as I steal enough that I can change the legal definition of "theft"? Wow! Nothing like a moral foundation built of vapor.

While I'm sure your masters want you to shift blame like that, my mind is not so limited. I perfectly capable of blaming both ... and I do. A very elite few have been systematically plundering this country, and have bribed our government to cover their tracks and do their dirty work. No matter how much you want to spin it, fixing this pervasive corruption is not selfishly taking someone else's hard-earned work. It's recovering stolen goods.

Bowfinger, I don't think he said it is ok. He said it was legal. You can't bitch about what they're doing being illegal and immoral because the government, you know the representatives of us, said it wasn't. They sure as shit be punished, but what are you going to do? Use the force of the state on them? Just like they are trying to do with you? Solve your own goddamn problem and go fucking take from them, go put some bullets into some people, because protesting and camping out while still holding onto your chains of "slavery" isn't going to accomplish anything.

More threats of violence including moltov cocktails! Such peaceful protesters...Stay safe New York, especially at macy's parade. Make sure you're vigilant and notify authorites of any suspicious marxits.

Later in the video, he then goes on to say “No more talking. They’ve got guns, we’ve got bottles. They’ve got bricks, we’ve got rocks…in a few days you’re going to see what a Molotov cocktail can do to Macy’s.”

I haven't seen a single anti-obama sign there yet, nor anti-buffet, nor anti-soros. They aren't angry at the ones who caused (nay, is egging it on and encouraging) it.

What a crock. Your "strict, powerful government" has become nothing but hired mall cops for the elite. It may be strict with the serfs, but it does virtually nothing to reign in the abusive lords. We need to restore government to representing the people as a whole, not just the few who have millions of dollars to bribe our elected representatives [sic].

Spidey, you are mentally ill. Seek professional help. Neither Obama, nor Buffet, nor Soros caused this situation.

I'm just following the chain of thought. Craig's point was working incomes would be "double" if not for the excessive concentration of wealth (compared to historically normal shared distribution patterns). You said that would be a bad thing because it would cause inflation. Thus, you appear to be advocating excessive concentration of wealth keeping working incomes down to control inflation.

Did Obama admin TARP? Yes. Why aren't the protesters focusing their anger on this president?

Because this entire thing is to take blame off the president and attempt to focus it on the bourgeois. Useful idiots, all of them.

I think doubling everyones salaries is effectively the same as allowing "excessive concentrations of wealth". Neither are right. I personally think everyones salaries should come down, obviously a higher drop from the "top", but Americans ask for to much money now mostly due to poor habits and decisions we've made.

spidey, you bitch about that shit, but the only way anything is going to change is through a more violent movement. It's a sad thing, but that is the harsh reality in which we live. you might not think things need to change, but many things need to change if people wish to continue on with our experiment while prospering.

I am not getting into a conversation about this with you any more than I would talk about the CIA to the screaming guy on the corner in a sandwich board. You simply aren't capable.

By the way, if you can let me know what area you live in I am very willing to assist you in finding a clinical psychologist. You don't have to live like this.

If everyone in America's salary dropped the country would experience catastrophic deflation. This is a terrible idea.

The whole idea behind the OWS movement is to draw attention to this corruption. If enough Americans pull themselves away from Dancing with the Stars and empty partisan wedge issues long enough to realize we're being robbed, maybe they'll finally get off their lazy, inattentive asses and create enough pressure to force "our" government to fix it. The only two other options appear to be armed revolt or continuing to slide backwards until we're just another third-world serfdom. Of the three, I'll side with OWS in seeking a peaceful solution.

Sweetie, I know you're immune to facts, but it was GW Bush who signed TARP. You may now ignore this and continue your insane ranting.

I'll give you my address. Promise to stop by and enter, just make sure you cross the threshold.

eskimospy, did I say "tomorrow everyone should make 50% of what they currently are"? No I didn't. I think Americans need to be paid less especially near the top. I think public employee pay needs to come down and coincide with tax exemption for public employees. I see no reason to tax tax dollars. That makes absolutely no fucking sense to me. It's never as simple as "doubling" salary or "dropping" salary. There are steps required to get there. Gradualism is the key, Americans don't seem to understand.

Fair enough. Thanks.
