Hmm. What a quandary. Do I believe people with first hand information, or do I listen to someone from the lunatic fringe who's so arrogant that he regularly insists he can essentially read people's minds and tell us what they're really thinking, even when they say something very different? Knowledge or nutter, what to do? I think I'll take Door #1, thank you very much.

You and Spidey can continue to wallow in your paranoid delusions. Meanwhile, OWS is gaining ever more popular support. If they can keep their own fringe under control and keep their energy up over the winter, they might just take this thing all the way. Only time will tell.

lol, keep wishing and hoping they are more than a ragtag bunch without a clear message...

BTW, drove past OWS des moines today... what a sorry bunch.

What they are suggesting and pushing should scare the shit out of all Americans. I've got no problem with legal protests, I've got a big problem with all the law breaking, disrespecting private property RIGHTS and more importantly their message and "solutions".

Isn't your RIGHT to protest as clear as your RIGHT to bear arms?

been watching Fox news tonight (I'm bored, sue me)

All I've heard is Brett Beir and O'reilly talk about OWS all night.

teehee! suuuuuuuuure no one cares!! Foxnews doesn't care, which is why they probably spend 50% of their news on OWS 😛

You should be happy, they're the only network wasting their time covering it for more than 4-5min /day.

There is a HUGE group of looters/vandals and they are being supported by the much larger group of people egging them on.

The people who are telling them to knock it the fuck off are like 5% of the group maybe if that, and they are getting beat up by the vandals.

what a fucking mess

You're right that it's a mess. The rest of your post? Not so much.

There were thousands of protestors in the march (about 7,000 according to the Oakland Police report I saw). In the linked video there were only two or three dozen (less than 1%) who were engaging in vandalism. That's still a problem for OWS if they want to continue building the support of average working Americans, but it is only a fringe element.

False. You're talking out of your derriere.

You remind me of the famous Monty Python skit with the 2 knights. One keeps getting limbs chopped off and says 'Its just a flesh wound'. The Tea Party gets branded extremist when a person dropped a gum wrapper on the ground. Riot and act like a bunch of thugs? Then you are building support for the average working American.. 🙄

That's hardly surprising given Fox's blatant agenda. Keeping the right-wing fringe properly outraged is their business model, and they're quite good at it.

The rest of the mainstream media has a bit of a dilemma, however. After all, although most of the OWS may not have realized this yet, the big media are a major part of the problem. They have been complicit in preserving the corrupted status quo. They obsess over sex scandals and celebrities, but turn a blind eye to stories that really matter like the systematic pillaging of America. In short, our corporatist mainstream media are part of the 1%. They have to be struggling with how to report a story in which they're one of the bad guys.

IMO, of course.

That's because you can't read for shit (and let's not even get into your complete inability to think for yourself). That OWS is building support is what those outside your nutter fringe call a "fact" -- their approval rating continues to rise. What your poor reading comprehension missed is that I'm explicitly saying that the vandalism is a problem for OWS, a problem that will cost them support. So you summed it up well ... other than being exactly backwards.

As far as the Black Knight is concerned, Sir Cad earned that "honor" years ago. I've seen no hint he's ready to give up his title.

This is rich. A guy that can ignore the agenda of Rolling Stone has problems with Fox news.

Come back when your closed mindedness is over.

If there are so few vandals in the group, they why wasn't the vast majority able to stop them? - Its because they turn a blind eye to the vandalism. Because on the inside they support them.

Both movements are the same at the core. One side just has a preference for illicit drug use and the other for racism and incest. Wait, what, you mean you can't judge an entire group of people by fringe elements?

You apparently share FNE's 1337 reading skillz. I made no assessment one way or the other about Rolling Stone as a whole. I don't read it. (My sense is they focus on pop culture, but that's not based on first-hand information.) My comments were aimed at the contents of one and only one article. That article did a great job of poking holes in people like you.
