Occasional booting with 0 contrast on L90D+ LCD monitor

I have Hyundai L90D+ and occasionally my comp boots with 0 contrast so I just get this dark screen and I can't see anything. The first time it happened I thought that my monitor or video card died but after switching monitors between my old and new comp I figure out what was the case and I just got contrast up on monitor. Now that it happened again I didn't panic but I don't get it why it happens. Does anyone know?

Other than that L90D+ is a good monitor, the best LCD monitor for the money in my opinion. Only other problem I had was installing the driver for it because it doesn't have auto run function on the driver CD-ROM but I figured it out and installed it after I went with 0 contrast for the second time. Maybe driver will fix it.

I had just got this same monitor hooked up for my father last week. He called me yesterday having the same problem (PIA trying to trouble shoot contract=0 over the phone). We chalked it up to my kids being over his house and messing with the contrast controls, but apparently not.

Looking for an answer as well.

Edit: driven by a GF3 w/ latest nVidia drivers as of last week through the DVI port 12x10. Rest of the system is a typical P4 system on WinXP Home (w/all service packs). Problem happened on cold boot.

After reading the extremetech DVI compliance article about nVidia GF5 and prior generations not driving the DVI port very accurately, I was leary about placing this card in the system, but I had it lying around so I did. It seemed to work well enough. Nothing related to this would be the root cause would it?

I have BFG 6800gt with 71.84 driver, but I just can't think of how would video card, even a bad one, lower contrast on my monitor. If it is to send signal with 0 contrast that would be different issue but contrast is manually adjustable on monitor, so I just don't get it.

I emailed Hyundai tech support about driver installation but they never bothered to answer. I figured that one on my own, I posted it here http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview...atid=31&threadid=1535578&enterthread=y

As for this problem, I'll call them but if they don't answer as you said that they didn't, I don't know what to think about Hyundai.

I just picked up one of these monitors two weeks ago as well and am having the same problem. it will sometimes start with 0 contrast after coming out of standby. I am using the DVI connection on an ATI 9600 Pro, so I don't think it's a video card issue.
