Hi, i have PIV 3.4 GH PRESCOT with ZALMAN 120mm fan , 2GB CORSAIR XMS twin, 600w PSU, ATI 9800PRO 128mb. MOB SY-P4I865PE Plus DR v1.0. At regular load CPU runs at 47c and at load max- 53c.I did it once by mistake and it was runing at 3.9HG, than i realise (had bad PSU) and corected it from BIOS.
My Q: what kind of benchmarks i'll have and how hot it'll run? Do you recommend it? I have it specialy for games(another one for work).

err, how did you accidentaly run it at 3.9ghz?? Your entire post is very confusing. You are talking about temps, then say you did it once by mistake and had it running at 3.9ghz, then mention you had a bad PSU..none of what you are saying seems to corolate with anythings else, so not exactly sure what you really are asking about.

Anyway, you didn't mention what you were using for cooling, didn't mention what the temps were when it was accidentaly at 3.9ghz, if you changed voltages, used mem dividers. Need more info. There is always a risk with overclocking, but chances are it will far outlive it's usefulness. I had a P4 550 3.4ghz prescott running at 3.91ghz, but I had to water cool it to keep it from throttling. They run very warm. At higher clock speeds and with increased Vcore, the throttling kicks in at a lower temp. If you are getting up to around 67c while overclocked you will throttle, and lose more performance than you gained. You need to run 2 instances of prime 95 to test for CPU stability(due to hyperthreading, if you don't run 2 instances, you aren't using 100% of the cpu, and aren't getting max temps).

Then i'll live it alone, one more thing: loock like something is holding speed perfomance
while work, i don't know KASPERSKY AV or some wrongly seted up parameters, my old
3.06 PIV runs faster with 1GIG memory vs PIV 3.4 with 2GB CORSAIR .
Any ideas?

Northwoods were actualy faster clock for clock than prescotts. My 3.06ghz northwood OC'd to 3.43ghz was keeping up with and often faster than my Prescott at 3.91ghz. The prescott did have the lead with video encoding, and SSE3 optimized programs, other than that, the northwood did better.
