Just wondering if anyone got this board and how's OC on such system. I can't find any review on such board and wonder if it will do well in OC? Thanks for your help!

You probably won't see anything for a couple of fays since it hasn't been out long, and no one probably has it yet.

I tried to download the manual to scope it out, but Chaintech doesn't seem to have it available quite yet. Neither does Asus for the K8N-E Deluxe :frown:

I got one from the sale of newegg . My previous mobo is a gigabyte k8n-pro . My first impression is the board is rock and solve my problem . My Antec 430 w true power can not boot up ATI AIW 9800 with gigabyte mobo . But rock with my new chaintech . I have 3 sticks 256m kingston with bh-6. It can not run on gigabyte ( 1 stick work fine but 2 sticks cause problem, 3 sticks don't talk about it) . 2 sticks run fine with chaintech at 10x225 . But failed if i install 3 sticks at 10x225
Well a $80 mobo is not bad to solve a few problem
Beware this board love high power supply . I use a 350 w PS is run completly unstable until i use 430 watts

that's bad news for me since I only have a Antec 330W PS!

Anyhow I used the Gigabyte K8N Pro before and I had no problem with 2 sticks of PC3200 512mb ram. I was able to get my A64 3000+ and ram run at 220 FSB stable with running Prime95 for 9 hours. It's a good board just I want to get the Chaintech becuz of the nForce3 250 chipset.

Any one who got the new Chaintech board VNF3-250 or seen any review can share your opinion? Thanks.

If you already purchased the K8N Pro, why would you want to get the nf3-250 2 weeks later? If I remember correctly, you asked me about A64 motherboards not long ago. I think you should stick with your K8N Pro and wait until socket 939 comes out before you make any decisions.

Your system specs are very very close to mines. If I were you, I'd spend $50 on a Thermalright 948u (7??) heatsink and overclock your cpu further.

I reached 2.4ghz on the K8n Pro with these settings:

-2.5 LDT multiplier (you can access this menu by pressing CTRL-F1 in bios screen)
-memory multiplier set to 166mhz
-memory timings of my OCZ set was 2-3-2-6, your's may be lower
-FSB of 240mhz

Make sure you are not using SATA harddrives, or 220fsb will be your max.

SATA limits the overclock on that board, interesting. With the AN50R I'm running 2.4ghz 5:6 with a raptor as the primary boot drive and it's gravy. Does the Gigabyte use the SI 3112?

You need to spend your money on a good power supply, Irene. I recommend the 460 watt Enermax (cheaper than an Antec TruePower 480, and has lots more power on the 12v rail, which is the most important these days).

Good for you. I'd care though, pay for a board that I have to add a pci controller card to in to order achieve the overclocking results others do with the on-board SATA =bullsh*t from my perspective ;)

Heh, I was kidding, yeah I did have to pay for another controller, but this one does a better job than onboard, plus it allows RAID 0/1 which I am using right now. After all, I'm happy with my overclock and the board is very stable.
