OC-ing Thoroughbred B with SP97-Results.

With the X-Dream, I was able overclock my 2700 to 2.2GHz @ 220FSB. I will post tomorrow what kind of new OC I can get. I'm not too optimistic, but I'm hoping to get at least 2.3.

Any of you with Thoroughbred Bs? What kind of OC did you manage to get?

Be careful not to leave fingerprints on that SP-97 as they will become *impossible* to remove after a while. You should wear latex gloves when installing it which I will now start doing for every PC component I touch. Good luck with the OC!

Well, if you can't get it much higher you might want to try for a Mobile...they seem to do VERY well. I have dual 2400-M's that can hit 2.5Ghz....16.5x150. Currently running at 16.5x133 or 2.2Ghz, 47c under load with SilentBoost.

Keep up informed as to how well it does. Oh yeah, next upgrade for you is Ram... PC2700 is your bottleneck right now

Looking forward to your update. What fan do you use. Persoanlly I find the fans make more of a difference in oc.

you should have got the Thermaltake Tower112. I think this is the best air cooling sink in the world

I have the SP94 for the P4, and it's awsome.

It cut my temperature over 30C from my o/c'd 2.4C P4 (3.0 GHz).

I'm planning on getting the SP97 for the Mobil XP-M 2400+ Athlon system I'm going to build.

That sh*t looks sic! Id use it but it seems kind of scary to rely just on those heatpipes to carry away the heat. The SP-97 probably works better.

I would like a bigger bus speed. With athlons you get more performance matching the fsb speed to the RAM speed, 133 is kinda low.

Well, the RAM is OC'd to 220MHz @ 2.5-4-4-4, so I don't think it's that much of a bottleneck yet.

What fan do you use

I'm using an 80mm 3200RPM fan that came with the X-Dream.

Looks like he's running dualies...so his board probably won't do much more than that.

Yup, running Dualies. Can hit max FSB of 150, limitation of board. I believe only the Iwill duallie can hit 166 or so. For my application (Server) 133 FSB is necessary, epecially running an add-in 64-bit Raid 1 card. Don't want Corruption because the board also does not have a PCI lock

But its not just the heatpipes connected to the base, the fins are also connected smart guy!

So far the SP97 lowered my CPU temp by 10 degrees C under load to 43.

This is under the previous OC of 220x10=2200.

I was able to OC my 2700, stock is 166x13=2158, to 220x10.5=2310 w/1.75V. Stable on Prime95 for 12 hours. Temps reached up to 50C.

Stable at 220x11=2420 w/1.85V for 7 hours and 7 min.

The most I was able to push it was 220x11.5=2530 w/1.85V.

Been watching the thread. Almost bought a sp-97 from svc.com aftger reading this would have bought it if it would fit a64 - so I decide to wait a little bit and maybe pick up an used one.

11.5 x 200 FSB 1.7 VCore.

with my xp1800 ive hit 2310mhz so far, with a volcano 12
11x210 fsb 1.725 vcore

as soon as i get some cooling issues worked out(north/south bridge) ill try for 2400mhz.
