OC Advice! Ordered 1.8A and P4B266 (USB2.0 ver.)

Hello! Is there anyone out there that has overclocked an Intel 1.8A processor and Asus P4B266-PA? (I'm not sure if that is the official model number, it's what was listed on newegg's website - its the USB 2.0 version of the P4B266). I just ordered the following:

1.8A, P4B266-PA, 512K 2100 DDR RAM

I'm interested in "moderately" overclocking, at least enough to maybe get to 2.0 or 2.2Ghz. From browsing the the boards here, it seems increasing the FSB speed would accomplish this. If you've done this with this hardware combination, can you share the settings you used? Would I need to up the voltage or other settings? I guess what I'm looking for is some advice on what to try first, like "up FSB to X, test, then try this..etc." I downloaded Prime95 to test everything after I make changes.

Most of the posts I see are on the 1.6A and I wasn't sure if there was something different/noteworthy about the 1.8A version.

Thanks in advance!

Well with the 1.8A you will hit 2.4ghz with only a 133fsb versus a 150fsb of the 1.6A. There are a few really nice overclocks from both processor's, but if I was you I would start somewhere lower and work up slowly until Prime95 fails.

I would think if you keep it under 115fsb you won't need to up the vcore. You might also be able to go higher without upping the vcore. But at some point you will need to up the vcore to be Prime95 stable.

You could also try the immediate gratification approach (is much faster) and set your fsb to whatever speed you want to try. Try posting. If post fails, turn power off, then press and hold the Insert key and turn the power on. (This boots you at default speed) Then go into bios and turn up the vcore some. Keep turning up the vcore til you have Prime95 stable overnight. I would watch my temps and make sure they don't go over 52-55C. If they do, get air moving through your case or a new better heatsink fan.

BTW, welcome to Anandtech...........😀 and good luck with your overclock.
