By the same Gallup poll, his approval was 35% in January of 1983. Let me guess though, you wouldn't attribute that to people 'seeing him for what he really was'.

Quick question for everyone. Do we believe that spidey is a real person, and thereby deserving of pity/medication, or just a really committed troll?

Better overall. Thanks to Bush and Republican policies I was in a miserable job that I couldn't escape. While things haven't rebounded perfectly, Obama's policies blunted the what could have been a much worse economic collapse (I'll even give some credit to Bush that TARP was indeed actually needed). In the last couple years my industry has picked up pace again and grown and I'm now in a new job that I'm happy in.

Can you imagine what his polls would look like if the media relentlessly hammered him like they did GWB? The number is low now, imagine if the media didn't adore him and the nobel committee didn't nominate him based on things he might do in the future etc etc.

Unfortunately, I don't think it will translate into defeat in the 2012 election, but still good to see the people waking up.

What diversion? You pointed out gallup's latest poll. No one disputed the numbers. Several responded that it's still pretty darn good both historically and considering we've had 2 years of the worst economy in decades. You attributed the decline to people "waking up from the liberal biased media", I think bad-economy-fatigue is a better explanation.
