Observation/comments on homeless people in general

NFS4

OK, not to be an insensitive prick, but I see homeless people quite often here in Raleigh...either sitting down with signs that saying "homeless, please help" or standing, walking around at exit ramps/intersections.

And 99.9% of the time it's a middle-aged Black or White man/woman. Raleigh has a pretty big Hispanic population (from what I see), but I never see them out beggin' for money. Their asses are out doing some work trying to bring in some $$$ for their family. Hell, a lot of them can't even speak English, but they find a way to earn a living.

Bleh, anyway. Something that was just on my mind...

The Hispanic guy/girl is most likely in the country illegally, and therefore does not want to draw any attention to themselves by standing at a busy intersection holding a sign.

Yesterday I saw a "homeless" man with a shopping cart and sign saying something to the effect of "vet, need money for food". I saw push has cart to a gas station, and what I saw next shocked me. I went to station to pump gas, and while pumping gas I watched him. He pulls out a CELL PHONE and calls someone on it. After I am done pumping gas I exit the gas station and drive by him on my way out and see him smoking a cig. odd he has no money for food, but he has money for a cell phone and cigs.

there are too many scammers cutting in the "real" homeless action, so now we don't trust the bums
