the disparity is quite stark, 9692 views for NHL sticky but only 1668 posts. and the NBA sticky has almost twice as many posts, 3358 with over 2500 fewer views, 7021.

would that be considered a generalization about nba fans vs nhl fans?

There's more casual basketball fans than hockey fans, especially when it includes the Lakers, Celtics, Cavs or Bulls.

I think it's just the status of bball and hockey in the US. I'm guessing the numbers are reversed on Canadian forums (e.g. Redflagdeals).

FWIW, when the Flames played the Lightning in the Stanley Cup, I think I was the only TB fan in Canada based on the posts. :)

Doesn't hurt that probably our single largest poster density is probably in a 50 mile radius of LA and that their home team went on to win the Championship.
