Observation about DirectX 8

After installing DX8 I checked DX tab in control panel. All the DX components were version 8, however D3D was version 7. Anyone else notice that?
 
u must have gotten an earlier version, i downloaded off of ctrl-alt-del.com and all my components are DX8 including d3d.
 
Mine says the same thing....update your DirectX Control Panel to DirectX 8 and it goes away.

Has anybody had any problems with DX Diagnostics? Doesn't like my SBLive under Win2K.
