Obscene lag issues with Battlefield 2!

For only the last 2 days, I have been receiving ridiculous lag in every server that is ranked. I fired up the demo and tested out whether or not I would lag, and for some strange reason, I do not lag at all in any demo servers. But as soon as I join a retail ranked server, boom, lagfest. I can't even turn around, much less walk around because I keep getting spammed with "There is a problem with your connection. I know it can't be my connection, because I can play World of Warcraft with no interrupts to my connection.

And the computers I have been experiencing this on, well...

Desktop:
AMD Athlon 3000+, Radeon 9800 Pro, 1 gig PC-3200 Kingston RAM.

Laptop:
Brand spanking new Inspiron 9300. Pentium M 730 (1.6 gHz), GeForce GT GO 256mb, 1.26 gigs of DDR2 (533 mHz FSB) crucial RAM.

Welcome to the forums.

I know it can't be my connection, because I can play World of Warcraft with no interrupts to my connection.
It is kinda hard to compare connections in MMOs to a FPS. You dont notice connection problems as much in MMOs as you do in FPS, normally.

But that being said, several people in my clan have reported that they are having horrible lag only on ranked servers also, the non ranked ones perform great.

Good point. For a better comparison, when I play Counter Strike: Source, or Half Life: Deathmatch, they both seem to run flawlessly with no lag. But then I start up BF2 and boom, so much lag it's unplayable.

It is BF2 itself that is the problem. Specifically, the 64 person ranked servers. I get very little lag to no lag on 32 player ranked servers and very little to none on non-ranked servers. I have found almost no lag while playing in the mornings though. Once the afternoon and evenings come around though, watch out.
