I play it in the correct forum.

Also, I like to be a high elf with the apprentice sign. And I use mods to increase the rate of mana regeneration.

I loved oblivion. once you get the mods for it it is great.

i have tried being a assisian. but didnt do very well. i prefer teh big plate guy who hacks through everything.

Really?? 10 minutes? Not much of an attention span.

Wrong forum

Oh, and the trick to having fun on that game.... burn it with fire then shit on it and throw it away

that game fuckin sucked

I've had one frustration after the other on Oblivion so I didn't get through too much of it. The first time I played through all of the Mage quests and then my PC crashed (lost my saves). 2nd time I got part way through the mage and dark brotherhood quests, and then the HDD failed w/ my saved games on it. Then I tried to start again and I couldn't, as it was so boring playing through the same 6 hours of game every time. Then I waited a couple years and got it cheap for the 360. I can't play it on that as I got so used to the mods on PC that the vanilla version seems broken and annoying by comparison.

Fallout 3 is much better but I prefer the colorful 'alive' world of oblivion. FO3 is getting a bit too boring with all the grey/brown ruined landscape. It all looks the same even though I'm supposedly making progress.

I just finished the main story this weekend and I'll be moving on to the shivering isles this week.

I played as an imperial thief and I was a complete and total bastard. I'd pickpocket everything I could from people even if I ended up throwing it away. I finished all the guilds before moving on to the Kvatch, and I played most of the game doing stealth kills.

PROTIP: All of the guilds have a rule that stealing/pick-pocketing from members of the guild will get you thrown out, but really you just can't get CAUGHT doing it. There is a house in Bruma that you can steal a Dark Brotherhood hood and robe from and it gives you a nice little stat boost if you're gonna do the stealth thing.

I played two different characters. The first build was on PS3. He was a pure assassin/thief character and I did thieves guild and brotherhood quests with him. I had a lot of fun with that character just messing with the sandbox world, stealing everything, killing folks in their sleep, etc.

My second build (on 360) I powerleveled a character (this is a HUGE pain in the ass in Oblivion) and just ground out all the quests to get 1250/1250. That was a dull run.

People actually choose a class rather than making a custom class?

That surprises me....

I made the custom "asswipe" class and it seems to have worked out just fine. 😉

i found it stupid that merchants all over instantly knew you had stolen goods. so i stopped playing thief. i just did a barbarian thing and went about my business, the side quests are kinda ho hum anyway.

The thief quests were the best in the game IMO, besides the addons on the PC version.

I made a custom class. Speed being a priority since moving around was always ultra slow. Basically I was super fast ninja, thief, backstabber, etc. 🙂

The assassin guy sounds funner than anything I've done. I'll have to try this out some time. Sounds like it might be a struggle through the arena and such though.

I never played Oblivion all the way through, but this is how my character was on the PC. I stole absolutely everything, including breaking into shops as well as taking rare treasures from inside some of the castles (some of which required cheating), and just straight up murdered a lot of people. I did play completely through the Dark Brotherhood as that was the most interesting thing in the game--don't remember if I did the thieves' guild.
