I loved being a vampire. Proper use of vampire skills makes not feeding worth it.

Please elaborate on "proper use of vampire skills."

Well, first you get +20 to:
* Strength
* Willpower
* Speed
* Acrobatics
* Athletics
* Destruction
* Hand-to-Hand
* Illusion
* Mysticism
* Sneak
20% resistance to normal weapons

In exchante for 50% weakness to fire and 8dps in the sun. So you pick a race and sign to get fire resists. Enchant yourself a regen item or two. Now you can do some light traveling in the sun.

You also get Resist Disease 100 % and Resist Paralysis 100 % regardless of your level of vampirism.

The abilities gained are:

* Hunter's Sight - Night Eye for 30 secs on Self, Detect Life 100 ft for 30 secs on Self, 5 Magicka
* Vampiric Seduction - Charm 50 pts for 20 secs on Touch, once per day
* Reign of Terror - Silence 20ft for 60 secs, Demoralize up to lvl 6 for 60 secs on Touch, once per day
* Embrace of Shadows - Night Eye for 90 secs on Self, Invisibility for 180 secs on Self, once per day

VS lets you run your quests, RoT helps you with casters, and EoS helps you travel. HS of course is great for finding pray when you ablsolutly need to travel in daylight. I only had to feed like 2 times because I needed to travel in day light. Otherwise I just stayed 100% vampire. I would also go 100% vampire right before really hard dungeons.

Somehow, I contracted Vampirism and now I'm a full fledged Vampire. I spend 3/4's of my time waiting indoors someplace for nightfall.

The only reason I feed is so that I can actually interact with people without them screaming "No! Get the hell away from me you evil POS!" :(

I've already started the quest for the cure. Unfortunately, I already found all the Grand Soul Gems early on and sold them all. I have some cool weapons and spells, but I spend my time just waiting...

And the MOST ANNOYING thing of them all? After I feed, I'm overburdened by almost 100 points. I have some magic boots and a ring that enable me to carry more, but feeding doesn't damage them, so I don't know why. Sometimes, if I wait a few hours, I'm no longer overburdened. Sometimes, I die outside waiting. :roll: Don't know if anyone else experiences this or not. Would be interesting to find out.

Bah!

I would like some hints or advice. Fire away.

Yeah... Vampirism comes from a disease that you WERE warned about. When you fight vampires, you may see "You have contracted Porphyric Hemophilia." that tells you that without intervention, you will become a vampire. If you pray at the church on the alter, all diseases including Porphyric Hemophilia will be erased. I believe the "cure disease" potions will take care of it as well. At any time in the game, you do have a panel that tells you what buffs/diseases you have, if you see Porphyric Hemophilia or Vampirism, then you know.

Now once you become a vampire, you're in a somewhat lessened state of Vampirism. If we call this "Vampire-Lite" that should be easier to remember. Every time you feed on a person, you enter "Vampire-Lite" state. The longer you go without feeding, the more benefits and drawbacks you'll get from being a vampire. You'll get increased attributes like strength (responsible for your extra carrying ability, which is why you become overburdened when you feed) and abilities. The townspeople will begin to notice your vampirism the longer you go without feeding. If you feed, you go back to the first state of vampirism where you only have a slight benefit, but not much in the way of downsides.

Being a vampire is a playing style on it's own. Gaining all those extra attributes and skills can be useful, as long as you know how to play... ie avoiding sunlight, etc. Another interesting tip is that if you get an NPCs disposition to 100, they will continue to interact with you even after being identified as a vampire.

Once you're past the stage of simply having the disease to being a full-fledged vampire, you can no longer go to the alter to simply cure it, you either do the quest or use a console command if you want to be rid of it. However, as long as you feed, you minimise the downsides of being a vampire. People will not know you are a vampire, you get a little increased stats and only a weakness to fire I believe. No sunlight damage until the increased states of vampirism. So keep on feeding until you want that awesome power.

I obviously missed the warning. :( Or more probably, I was too excited with some item I found and wanted to play with it and ignored the warnings. LOL! :D

The worst part about being a Vampire is feeding! I like to carry lots of stuff and after I feed, I'm down 100 points on my feather ability.
