Oblivion Texture Mod Question

I was searching for a good texture mod for TES IV: Oblivion and came across Qarl's Texture Pack III, should I be going for that or is there something better worth getting? Also, will my PC (specs in the siggy) be able to handle Qarl's Texture Pack well enough?

I ran QTP3 fine on my old 8800GTS 640MB.

FCOM is another really good mod, Elder Scrolls Nexus should have you covered either way.

QTP3 is as good as it gets, as far as I know. Just make sure to use Oblivion Mod Manager so things are a little easier. Because it's a large mod (2 or 3 GB I think) it will take a minute or two to install.

Side note, you want the newer, better performing QTP3 Redimized over the original.

Also worth getting FCOM, although that's a bit of a headache to set up if you're new to mods I've heard.

Nope, QTP3 is as good as it gets. That and the Unique Landscapes mod.
A side benefit of waiting this long to play through Oblivion is that it's smooth as butter on a 6950 with all the graphical mods and max details 😀

Thanks guys for letting me know... I'm getting the QTP3 Redimized v1.0 (along with the patch that was released for it). Will start Oblivion later on in the day... yipeee!! 🙂

Don't forget the unique landscapes mod. HUGE difference.

There's a mod that has all the unique landscapes merged into one. Also UL isn't slow cpu friendly, especially the Bravil area, but well worth effort.

Also there's a mod that improves the normal maps considerable, but I can't find it on my list at the moment.

I too will play Oblivion for the first time soon (got it on a Steam sale a while ago). I just installed Redimized and it seems to be working fine.

There's also a "Enhanced Weather" or "Natural Weather" or "Natural Environments" mod you should use too... I forgot exactly what it's called... but it improves the atmosphere, weather effects, and foliage by quite a bit. 😛

The resolution is slightly reduced in the "Redimized" version. It's not really that noticable but I find that with a 1GB card, the regular version of QTP works fine.

Also get Better Cities and Unique Landscapes for near-Skyrim quality cities and landscapes.
