Oblivion has just completely sucked me in. I've been playing Shivering Isles and wow! The game just gets better and better. It's too bad my PC can't deliver the performance in-game as well as some of yours. I'll get mine soon... 🙂

Also, I was curious... I'm assuming there is a command to show your FPS, what is it? Thanks in advance!

hey you said you forced the HDR and AF with control panel... what does that mean? I have an ATI card so i should be able to do it right?

open the console and type "tdt".

What's your method for taking screenshots? For some reason the game only allows me to take screenshots with AA disabled, making them look like utter crap. I tried using FRAPS in addition to the Print Screen button and neither will allow me to take them unless i disable AA.

edit- Nevermind 😀 Just disabled AA in the launch menu and forced it in the NVIDIA control panel like you said.

Also remember to go under documents-my games-"Oblivion" and open the configuration file with your notepad application. Under [Display] you'll find bAllowScreenShot. Assign that a value of 1. Now when you hit printscreen it will save screen shots to your "Oblivion" game folder.

If it's cloudy or raining and you wish clear weather for screen shots open the console with the tilde key and type ForceWeather 00038EEE. That will change the weather to clear and sunny for a time.

Tm from the console will toggle off menus if you don't want them to appear in your saved shots.

As someone else said for HDR + AA you set the game to HDR and force AA from the nVidia CP.

If you find grass is killing your card you may locate the [Grass] entry in the config file and play with values from 90-120 under iMinGrass. The higher the value the less dense the grass will be. It has a default value of 80 which is very demanding in some areas with its viewing distance turned up and depth of field. Alternatively, you may type Tg from the console, which will toggle grass on and off.

If you are high level and are tired of fighting CL 40 bears and such nonsense that "level with you", you may bring up the console, target them, and type kill.

I love the game. I have "Knights of the Nine" as well as "The Shivering Isles". I enjoyed doing all the side quests, guild quests and exploring odd random dungeons as much as I did the main story line.

I highly recommend the below tweak guide for understanding all the options in the configuration file:

Pics look great! I could never get into this game though, it just bored me to tears.

Maybe if it hits the bargain bin soon I will pick it up again.

Yeah this game does look great and yeah Oblivion is boring as hell unfortunatly. The combat system is horribly dull.
