Hi,

I'm waiting for the Oblivion Collectors Edition to come out in my country, and in the process of wait I got some info about a near future patch release and official plugins:

Horse Armor Pack

Apparently these plugins will be (or are they yet?) available at $1.99 each, which will be nice price if they are good.

Now my question is: are they to be downloaded like "patches" where I can save them to disk? I mean, if I reinstall the game, can I install them from my disk, or will I need to connect to the internet and the game self updates?

I prefer the former, as I like to possess what I pay for (even my save games) so I can be totally independent latter, if I want to restart playing in a few years against the risk of the updates no longer exist on the web.

I wasn't aware they would be selling small plug-ins like this. If I do indeed get bored with Oblivion, I'll look to the (free) modding community first.
 
Aside from the silly horse armor (I never even use one), this is somewhat like slooowly releasing a large expansion pack via little chunks. Doesn't bother me that I gotta pay for it.
 
i'd rather see the game patched than have them release plug ins.

and yes, they're downloads so do what you want with them. i think the horse armor is the first, due out next week. and not that it matters, but i thought it was 1.89 😉
