Oblivion Performance Comparisons?

Does anybody know of any good Oblivion performance comparisons out there on the Internets? I haven't run across any yet, but I'm sure they're coming. Please share!

There is already a thread on this game.

Please use it.

I would like to know what to expect from this game if my specs are as follows:

Xp 2100+
1.5GB Ram
x800 Pro

My main problem is that my LCD is native 1280x1024@60hz but I've never tried to play at a lower res so I have no idea just how horrible it will look.

Any way I can pull off playing at that res with medium to low graphics?

You might be able to get away with it...your biggest bottleneck will be your processor I would think

I have an XP 2500+, 768 MB of RAM, and a 6800 GT and I've heard good reports from people with worse specs than mine. I'm hoping to gather more opinions before I decided whether to purchase the game now or later. Please remember this thread if you run across any performance comparisons! Thanks!

I'll try and post back tonight. I picked the game up last night but got home too late to give it a run.
My specs are 3000+ Barton, 1 GB RAM & a 9800Pro. I talked to a friend who has the exact same setup but has a 2500+ and he said he put the settings to medium and it was running smooth and looking incredible.

I have a 3500+, 1GB of ram, and a 6800GT OC, and the woodland/grass/plants outdoors brings my system to its knees on medium to high (not ultra)! Slideshow, literally. Indoor environments are slick though. Seems they really didnt balance this.

Humm... well he hadn't been playing for very long yet so maybe he was still in the indoor portion. But from what I gather in the other oblivion thread here you should be getting better FPS. Have you tried shutting down most of the other running programs and defragging your hard drive? Maybe also check the HDD controller to make sure it didn't get bumped down to PIO mode or something?

I havn't played much yet.. and am still indoors, in the dungeon area, but its running quite well. (after I solved a little video card overheating issue..)

I have a X2 3800+, 7800GT, and 2GB Ram.... running at 1920x1200.

Oh yes, optimized, i have been at this PC gaming thing for quite a while. Im downloading 84.25 drivers right now. Also, im playing at 1600x900 (looks good for non-native) this is the lowest widescreen setting. It just doesnt seem balanced at all, outdoors (only the "wilderness" environments) mostly slideshow--indoors smooth as butter. Maybe the beta drivers will help.

Edit: has anyone seen a way to lower the density of the grass/weeds/plants? All i see is draw distance.

people with 6800gt's should really check out the coolbits fix. I hear that it has *serious* improvment, especially in outdoors. you may still have to turn grass down/off though.
